Philippine Politics: A Call for Change!
Watching Philippine politics feels like rewatching the same disappointing series: corruption, empty promises, political dynasties, and leaders treating public office as a family inheritance.
Meanwhile, ordinary Filipinos struggle with inflation, stagnant wages, crumbling infrastructure, and a system designed to serve the powerful.
People aren’t angry because they hate the country. They’re angry because they love it, and they know we deserve better.
We deserve leaders who are accountable, transparent, and genuinely invested in the people’s welfare, not just during campaign season, but every single day in office. That’s the bare minimum, not an aspiration.
Here’s the cruel irony: Filipino resilience is both our strength and our weakness. That resilience keeps the nation alive while enabling leaders to get away with doing the bare minimum. Politicians count on our ability to endure. They know we’ll survive their failures.
This is why we must stop treating incompetence and corruption as inevitable. “That’s just how politics works” has become an excuse for acceptance. But normalizing mediocrity ensures nothing changes. We break the cycle only when we refuse to accept it.
The Philippines deserves better. Filipinos deserve better. And that change begins when we stop excusing what we should be demanding accountability for.
