Pinuna ni dating Senador Antonio β€œSonny” Trillanes IV ang pamumuno ni Senate President at impeachment court presiding officer Francis β€œChiz” Escudero sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte, kasabay ng matapang na pahayag laban sa senador.

Sa isang panayam sa programang β€œSa Totoo Lang” ng One PH, sinabi ni Trillanes na dapat umanong managot si Escudero kung hindi nito gagampanan nang maayos ang kanyang tungkulin. Binanggit din niya ang isang nakabinbing plunder case laban sa senador.

β€œIpaalala ko lang sa mga kababayan natin, merong kasong plunder ito ah, na nakabinbin. Kaya pag paloko-loko ito, talagang kailangan i-diretso na ito sa kulungan, kasi ito na nga, binibigyan na siya ng redemption,” ani Trillanes.

Dagdag pa niya, dapat umanong gamitin ni Escudero ang pagkakataon upang maitama ang kanyang mga naging pagkukulang. β€œGumawa ka naman ng tama at maayos para makabawi-bawi ka sa utang mo sa lipunan,” aniya.

Kinuwestiyon din ni Trillanes ang naging pakikitungo nina Escudero at Senador Joel Villanueva kay Davao City Mayor Sebastian β€œBaste” Duterte nang humarap ito sa impeachment court. Ayon kay Trillanes, β€œhalos nagmamano” umano ang dalawa nang makita si Baste sa Senado.

Ang mga pahayag ni Trillanes ay bahagi ng kanyang patuloy na pagpuna sa pamamahala ng impeachment proceedings. Wala pang inilalabas na tugon si Escudero kaugnay sa mga pahayag ni Trillanes.

Sa isang press conference nitong Biyernes, iginiit ni dating senador Antonio Trillanes IV na tumanggap umano ng pera si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at ilang miyembro ng kanyang pamilya mula sa Davao businessman na si Samuel β€œSammy” Uy, na inilarawan niya bilang isang drug lord.

Ayon kay Trillanes, taliwas umano ito sa matinding kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga na isinulong ni Duterte noong nasa pambansang politika na siya.

Sinabi rin niya na naging β€œkapartner” umano ng pamilya Duterte ang naturang negosyante sa mga transaksyong kanyang inilahad.

Defense Secretary Gilbert β€œGibo” Teodoro Jr. called on former Senator Antonio β€œSonny” Trillanes IV to submit any evidence he has to law enforcement authorities following allegations that Chinese funds were transferred to an organization linked to Vice President Sara Duterte.

In a message forwarded by MalacaΓ±ang, Teodoro said the allegations could have serious national security implications if they are substantiated.

β€œThe allegations of Fmr. Senator Trillanes, if substantiated, raise serious implications for national security,” Teodoro said.

Teodoro urged Trillanes to turn over any supporting evidence to the proper authorities so the allegations can undergo a thorough investigation.

β€œHe should submit the evidence in his possession, if any, to our law enforcement authorities so the matter can be thoroughly investigated,” he added.

Trillanes has publicly raised allegations concerning the movement of funds allegedly originating from Chinese government entities and corporations and their supposed links to an organization associated with Vice President Duterte. The allegations remain claims and would need to be independently verified by authorities.

Teodoro’s statement puts the focus on the evidence behind the allegations, as government authorities face calls to determine whether the reported financial transactions occurred and whether they have any implications for national security.

Vice President Sara Duterte has received an invitation from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to attend a conference regarding allegations made by former police officer Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., who claimed that he delivered suitcases allegedly containing cash to members of the Duterte family.

Atty. Paul Lawrence Lim, counsel for the Vice President, confirmed that Duterte received the NBI invitation. However, Lim said the document did not include an official copy of Gracioso’s affidavit, which prompted the Vice President’s legal team to request a complete copy.

β€œHowever, since no official copy of Mr. Gracioso’s affidavit was included with the invitation, we have requested the NBI for a faithful copy thereof and all its supporting documents, if any,” Lim said.

Lim added that Duterte’s camp will review the requested documents before deciding on the appropriate response. β€œOnce received, the Vice President will take appropriate action thereon in due course,” he said.

The NBI invitation comes amid Gracioso’s allegations involving alleged cash deliveries to the Dutertes. Duterte has previously denied knowing or receiving money from Gracioso and has questioned the allegations surrounding the claims. The NBI’s conference is expected to provide an opportunity for authorities to clarify the allegations and for the Vice President’s camp to respond based on the evidence presented.
