𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Action Research Seminar: From Classroom Problems to Research Solutions
‎
‎The Action Research Seminar for STE Pre-Service Students, held on September 24, equipped future educators with essential knowledge and practical skills in developing and conducting action research.
‎
‎The seminar featured Dr. Al Niño D. Duerme, JD, who facilitated sessions on “Understanding Action Research: From Classroom Problems to Researchable Questions” and “Designing the Action Research: Framework, Participants, and Methodology.” Meanwhile, Sir Mark Ryan P. Villena led sessions on ''Developing and Implementing the Action Plan”and “Writing, Presenting, and Improving an Action Research Proposal,”providing participants with valuable guidance in developing their research ideas and proposals.

‎In the afternoon, the students put their learning into practice through an impromptu action research writing activity, where they were tasked to develop an action research paper based on the concepts and strategies discussed during the seminar. The hands-on activity provided participants with an opportunity to transform classroom concerns into potential research-based solutions.

Above all, this event is made possible with the support from the JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales; Dean of Student Affairs and Services, Prof. Venus M. Avenido, OIC ; Dumingag Campus Director, Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin.

‎The seminar ultimately strengthened the students’ knowledge, confidence, and skills in action research, preparing them to become reflective, innovative, and research-oriented future educators.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 |JHCSC Dumingag Campus equips educators through a 3-Day Pre-Deployment Seminar

From September 21 to 23, 2026, the J. H. Cerilles State College–Dumingag Campus held a three-day Pre-Deployment Seminar designed to prepare student-teachers for their upcoming teaching experiences.

The seminar covered topics such as the Revised K to 10 Curriculum, lesson planning, learner-centered teaching, deeper learning, authentic assessment, and creating meaningful learning experiences.

The seminar brought in resource speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise. Vivian D. Alcorin, Ed.D., School Principal II of Dumingag SPED Center, delivered the session for the BEEd students. She presented the Revised K to 10 Curriculum, including its framework, key changes, and implications for teachers. She also discussed how to move from competencies to classroom practice by unpacking standards and designing learning experiences.

Another session focused on teaching for learning, including how to design authentic and responsive assessments.

Dr. Jeffrey H. Montuya, School Principal, served as a resource speaker for the BEEd students. Meanwhile, Dr. Jonard Basira Amarilla, School Principal I, led sessions for both BSEd English and BPEd students. Janley L. Fuentes, Teacher III, guided the BSEd Mathematics students during her sessions.

The seminar also included breakout sessions where student-teachers explored various aspects of the Revised K to 10 Curriculum. They examined how to move from learning competencies to lesson objectives, practiced designing lesson plans, and developed learner-centered and engaging learning experiences. Demonstration teaching was also part of the hands-on activities, giving student-teachers an opportunity to apply what they had learned.

The three-day event took place at the JHCSC Dumingag Campus, providing student-teachers with knowledge and practical preparation for their upcoming teaching placements.

The seminar concluded on September 23, 2026, with a closing program that marked the end of three days of learning and focused preparation. The event helped future educators build confidence and better prepare for the responsibilities of the teaching profession.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | | The JHCSC Dumingag Insider unveils, ignites, and inspires student journalists for AY 2026–2027 with a seminar-workshop

On September 10–11, 2026, the Official Student Publication of JHCSC Dumingag Campus, The JHCSC Dumingag Insider, convened for a two-day seminar-workshop spearheaded by the Publication Adviser, Ms. Jackie J. Valderrama, together with her staff, Ms. Althea May R. Dago-oc and Mr. Raffy Louis Rey Antipolo.

The seminar-workshop was intended to unveil the essence of journalism, ignite the fire for press freedom, and inspire student journalists to continue spreading truth and integrity even beyond the campus walls.

Esteemed resource speakers were invited from the journalism-related faculty and staff of J. H. Cerilles State College, who have years of experience and deep expertise in their respective fields. From the Information and Public Affairs Office of J. H. Cerilles State College were Ms. Farniza Marcaban, Ms. Rhea Marie Jongco, Mr. Ralph Dale Ramirez, Mr. Kevin Jay Timtim, Mr. Ricky John Ocapan, and Mr. John Carlo Padilla, along with Mr. Elberth Rey Dela Cruz, an Instructor III of JHCSC Dumingag.

The event ended on September 11, with student journalists carrying home their prizes after the group output presentation, which involved a video report presentation and collaborative desktop publishing. The event not only strengthened journalism but also carried the purpose of J. H. Cerilles State College—producing competent students ready to serve above and beyond.

The Student Publication Office extends its gratitude to the people who made this two-day seminar-workshop possible. We thank the JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, together with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, and the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido, for their undying support for student publication initiatives and for believing in the importance of cultivating journalism. We also thank the Dumingag Campus Director, Dr. Moises Glenn G. 𝗝𝗛𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 | JHCSC receives Plaque of Appreciation for WURI 2026: Representative Research Project

Today, September 18, the J. H. Cerilles State College, represented by Dumingag Campus Director Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, received the Plaque of Appreciation for ranking 88th in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026 under the Representative Research Project (C1) category. The plaque was presented during the celebration of ASEAN’s 59th Founding Anniversary, themed “Navigating Our Future, Together.”

The official results were announced on May 6–8, 2026, with the J. H. Cerilles State College recognized among universities across the globe for its excellence in research.

Dumingag Campus Director and Resource Generation Management Director Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, who successfully led the ZAMPEN Native Chicken Project: Sustainable Livelihood and Genetic Conservation under Axis 3—Innovation Targets (C1: Representative Research Project), received the plaque on behalf of the J. H. Cerilles State College. His leadership as Initiator and Champion paved the way for the college’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and meaningful research.

The collaborative efforts of the visionary leadership of College President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, former VPRIDE Dr. Jerry B. Superales, and Mrs. Rowena N. Libot made this milestone possible.

This is a source of pride and honor for every JHCSCian—a testament to the collective efforts of every branch of the institution.

Today, September 18, the J. H. Cerilles State College Dumingag Campus Faculty and Staff Association (FASA) conducts local election after the general assembly at the Campus Function Hall.

The biennial election was facilitated by the designated Electoral Board in accordance with the approved election guidelines and procedures.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | JHCSC Dumingag DRRMO conducts 3rd Quarter NSED

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Dumingag Campus Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) conducted the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 10, 2025, at the campus open grounds.

The drill began with an earthquake simulation and siren at exactly 9:00 AM in Caridad, and 2:00 PM in Dapiwak, prompting the participants to practice the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure as they proceed to the designated safe area.

Furthermore, the drill also featured a search and rescue simulation led by JHCSC DRRMO staff and student responders.

The successful conduct of this activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts and continuous support of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, Dumingag Campus Director Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) Dean Prof. Venus M. Avenido, OSAS In-Charge Mr. Roldan N.
