SSJW Faculty Empowered for 2025-2026: A Successful Orientation Sets the Stage for Excellence
The School of St. Joseph the Worker (SSJW) held its annual Faculty Orientation for the 2025-2026 school year, bringing together educators from Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High school departments. The event, held on June 16, 2025, served as a crucial springboard for preparing the school for a successful academic year. The orientation's success was largely due to the insightful presentations delivered by a panel of distinguished speakers.
Dr. Mariesu M. Antonio, Ilagan Diocesan School System (IDSS) Superintendent, provided a comprehensive overview of IDSS policies and procedures, including the organizational structure and key characteristics of the Philippine Catholic Schools System (PCSS). Her presentation also covered the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), State supervision, school finance, relevant laws, and strategies for achieving quality education. Dr. Antonio also emphasized ethical conduct and high-performance standards, offering practical classroom management techniques for teachers.
Ma'am Teresita N. Pagador, School Principal, focused on the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), highlighting the crucial role of educators in nation-building and the development of holistic learners. She expertly highlighted the qualities of effective teachers, offering valuable insights into PPST domains, career progression, and evaluation processes, all while sharing practical strategies for navigating challenging classroom situations.
Sir Chen R. Figuracion, SHS Coordinator, presented a proposed update to the student handbook, introducing revised regulations and policies. His presentation highlighted the school's commitment to a safe learning environment by emphasizing academic integrity, child protection policies, guidelines, and relevant legal frameworks safeguarding students and teachers.
Finally, Sir Vincent Paul M. Acosta addressed the critical issue of data privacy in the digital age, highlighting current cybersecurity threats. He offered practical solutions and advice to help teachers manage their digital media consumption and protect themselves from online scams. He also showcased technology designed to enhance the security, availability, and retrieval of both digital and physical student records.
The SSJW Faculty Orientation was a resounding success, leaving teachers feeling well-prepared, informed, and inspired to embark on a productive and fulfilling academic year.
