There are no original ideas. There are only original people.

-Barbara Grizzuti Harrison

We all have original ideas. Even if we don't see ourselves as supercreative or as wild nonconformists, we have insights every day about how the world around us could be better. It might be a better way of running meetings in your office that would be less mind-numbing. It might be a little twist on a product or a service.

-Adam Grant

Kindness and intelligence don't always deliver us from the pitfalls and traps: there are always failures of love, of will, of imagination. There is no way to take the danger out of human relationships.

Proposing the development of a modern city in Echague, set against the stunning backdrop of the Sierra Madre Mountains, is not just an economic opportunity but a commitment to environmental stewardship. The establishment of a new business district is envisioned as a catalyst for economic growth and town organization, laying the groundwork for potential city status. Our forward-thinking approach includes meticulous urban planning with a modern sewer and drainage system, ensuring not only the functionality of the city but also the preservation of its natural surroundings.

A crucial aspect of our vision is the implementation of modern highway and road planning, strategically connecting Echague to neighboring towns such as Jones, San Guillermo, Saguday in the province of Quirino, and the coastal town of Dinapigue. This infrastructure aims to not only alleviate traffic congestion but also promote seamless commerce, fostering regional collaboration and economic development.

In addition to ground connectivity, we propose the construction of a modern domestic airport in Echague. This strategic addition serves as a gateway for tourists and businessmen, facilitating easier access to the town and enhancing economic opportunities. The airport becomes a key element in making Echague an attractive destination for both leisure and business travel.

In summary, our vision for Echague goes beyond conventional city development, emphasizing environmental responsibility, efficient infrastructure, and strategic connectivity. By integrating these elements, we aspire to build a modern city that harmonizes economic progress with environmental conservation, promoting regional collaboration and positioning Echague as a dynamic hub for both tourism and business.

In charting the future of Echague, nestled near the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains, we envision not just a thriving city but a model of sustainability. The establishment of a new business district not only promises economic prosperity but forms the cornerstone of a well-organized town, laying the groundwork for potential city status. Our commitment extends beyond economic growth, emphasizing meticulous urban planning with a modern sewer and drainage system that not only safeguards the environment but also ensures the preservation of our natural resources.

A city designed with environmental consciousness at its core is integral to our vision. The implementation of cutting-edge infrastructure not only addresses the immediate needs of Echague but sets a precedent for responsible urban development. The modern sewer and drainage system are not just components of a city's functionality; they are a testament to our dedication to preserving the ecological balance and protecting the pristine surroundings of the Sierra Madre Mountains.

Furthermore, the strategic construction of a highway connecting Echague to the coastal town of Dinapigue is a catalyst for regional progress. Beyond alleviating traffic congestion within Echague, this transportation link fosters economic collaboration and cultural exchange between Echague, Jones, San Guillermo, and Dinapigue. By promoting seamless connectivity, we aim to unlock the economic potential of the region while minimizing the environmental impact, creating a blueprint for sustainable urban growth.

In summary, our vision for Echague goes beyond the conventional notions of urban development. It is a holistic approach that intertwines economic prosperity with environmental preservation and regional connectivity. By weaving together these elements, we aspire to build not just a city but a sustainable haven that harmonizes with nature, supports thriving businesses, and strengthens the bonds between neighboring towns.

Let’s envision a charming modern small town of Echague (soon to be Yogad City) from above, where life unfolds in a delightful way.

In this picturesque town, the sun casts a warm glow on the streets below. From our elevated vantage point, we see:

Main Street: A bustling thoroughfare lined with quaint shops, cafes, and boutiques. The storefronts boast colorful awnings, and people meander along the sidewalks, sipping coffee and chatting.

The Market Square: At the heart of the town, the market square buzzes with activity. Fresh produce stalls overflow with vibrant fruits and vegetables. Families gather here, their laughter blending with the aroma of baked goods.

The Riverfront: A serene river winds its way through the town. Along the Stony Riverbank, we spot a river walk—a wooden path that curves gracefully along the water’s edge. Couples stroll hand in hand, admiring the view.

Filipino Boats: Colorful boats, reminiscent of traditional Filipino vessels, bob gently on the river. Their sails catch the breeze, and perhaps they carry stories of distant shores.

Low-Lying Bridge: An arched stone bridge spans the river. Children giggle as they leap into the water, their splashes echoing under the bridge. The bridge itself is adorned with love locks, each symbolizing a promise made.

Parking Lots: Behind the stores, hidden from view at ground level, lie neat parking lots. Cars rest there, their engines cooled after journeys through the winding roads.

Families Enjoying: Picnic blankets dot the grassy patches near the river. Families spread out, sharing sandwiches, playing catch, and basking in the sun. Children fly kites, their laughter soaring higher.

And there it is—the heartbeat of our small town, captured in an aerial snapshot. A place where community thrives, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and where the river’s gentle current carries both dreams and memories.

A POEM ABOUT FISHING:

Bringing Forth

On the gold rock,
we used to sit
with our primitive poles.
Sticks we gathered
from grandmother’s
broken maples,
pins we tied by the head
onto white string.
The sunnies swam
brown-golden-rainbow
in her lake, near the sand beach
she brought in
herself. We always cheered
when we hooked
the surge of body and fin.
But I also cried
at the blood, the shining hole,
and more often than not
I threw the breathless sunnies
back in.

The Yogad are Filipinos who speak an Austronesian language recognized as one of the five dialects of Ga’dang, with the others being Gaddang proper, Maddukayang, Katalangan, and Iraya. But what exactly is the Ga’dang? It is the language spoken in the area of northern Luzon. Many neighboring provinces use this language. Specifically, Ga’dang is used in Tabuk, Kalinga, Paracelis, Mountain Province, and Potia, Ifugao
