Some seasons feel a bit heavier than others, ano?
And when the budget is tight, the idea of building an emergency fund can feel intimidating. Parang, “Emergency fund? Unahin muna natin ang actual emergency called bills.” Hehe.
But one thing YEN DREYFUS and I have learned through the years is that it doesn’t have to start big. Hindi kailangang perfect agad. Sometimes, the most important step is simply setting aside what you can, when you can.
An emergency fund is your “just in case” fund for unexpected expenses like medical needs, home repairs, or sudden changes in income. Ideally, it can cover around 6 months of expenses, but getting there can be gradual and imperfect.
What helps is keeping it separate from your everyday spending money, para hindi siya nakahalo sa regular gastos. Through the BPI app, you can get started opening an account with just one ID, making it easier to start and track.
Small steps still count. Promise.
