𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢 | 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙡 𝙄𝙫𝙖𝙣 𝘾. 𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙨, a Grade 10 student from Aquinas, will represent Mandaluyong City in the upcoming 𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙮 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 held at General Santos, Davao Region, on Oct. 25 to 31.

"𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙤𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚, 𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.” He expressed, not forgetting to honor the person behind his growth as an athlete.

As he prepares for the upcoming Batang Pinoy Tournament, Aranas carries not only his skills and discipline, but also the guidance and support of his trainer and fellow Batang Bayan.

In preparation for the upcoming 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 (𝘿𝙎𝙋𝘾) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, the Mandaluyong Journal and Ang Daloy campus journalists enhanced their skills in the 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙-𝙖𝙣𝙙-𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨 (𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙏) 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚 held at the Mandaluyong High School (MHS) Auditorium, yesterday.

𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙧 (𝙋𝙎𝘿𝙎) 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙄𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢, 𝙈𝙧. 𝘼𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙮 𝘼𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙤 𝙈. 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙖 highlighted the importance of campus journalism and the student journalists' crucial role in spreading current and relevant issues to others.

"𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢," Mr. Garcia stated during his speech.

He also led the discussion on the format and structure of the first set of categories: 𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜.

For the next sessions, other genres of journalism will be tackled with various sets of journalists of their respective category.

In every story of success, there is always a teacher behind the progress.

Teachers are so much more than just transmitters of knowledge; they are the 𝙣𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨. They impart valuable lessons in discipline, perseverance, and empathy, teachings that stay with us long after we leave the classroom.

This month, 𝙬𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨, recognizing the countless hours they invest in preparing lessons, grading papers, and patiently addressing our never-ending questions, yes, even the ones we ask repeatedly.

We honor 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙭𝙝𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙩, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨. Due to the continuous heavy rainfall, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced the suspension of 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦 at 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗦, and 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 in 𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦 in Metro Manila and other regions, today.

Based on Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office's (PDRRMO) report, there are high chances of flooding within the National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas.

Mr. Garcia thanked all the school heads, School Paper Advisers (SPAs), campus journalists, and parents who have supported this program.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Premier, The Interact Club of Mandaluyong High School (IAC-MHS) held the 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙡𝙮 (𝘿𝙇𝘼) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 at the school auditorium last Aug. 23.

This event aimed to strengthen leadership skills and promote service-oriented values among young members and leaders of the Interact, reinforcing the Rotary motto, “𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙡𝙛.”

Throughout the day, these Interactors attended leadership talks, training activities, and interactive sessions designed to highlight the 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠, 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮.

Interactors were also encouraged to build confidence in expressing their ideas, sharing their advocacies, and interacting with fellow leaders from different zones.

Additionally, rotarians noted that the new profound skills taught during the event are 𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨.

Mandaluyong High School's (MHS) Rondalla Club paid a courtesy call to Mandaluyong's City Mayor held at the city hall last Aug. 19.

Representing Mandaluyong City in the semi-finals of the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩 (𝙉𝘼𝙈𝘾𝙔𝘼), the club is eagerly supported by the local government.

"𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙪𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙍𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗. 𝙒𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢," Abalos said in her statement.

𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖 "𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚" 𝘼𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙨 praised the group of students, wishing them success in their upcoming competition.

Furthermore, she also believed that they will inspire young people and boost their confidence to pursue their dreams.

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀’ 𝗗𝗮𝘆 | 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀' 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲

It is a time when we Filipinos can 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮'𝙨 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨.

They served our native land when everything felt like it was falling apart, during a period where plenty of countries sought to invade, steal our natural resources, satisfy their thirst for gratifications, and profit at the expense of our unsuspecting ancestors.

Yet, as war soaked and stained the history of our people, lofty and honorable heroes—men and women alike—rose and upheld their cause.

Some led the people while some gathered information, slowly yet steadily, sneaking their way under the noses of our colonizers, all contributing as a piece to a bigger puzzle—each of them dedicated the greater part of their lives to doing noble work for the greater good.

𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 — let these heroes, known and unknown, be our source of inspiration to be better humans, law-abiding citizens, and great contributors to our society.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗠𝗝 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽

𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 (𝙈𝙅) conducted a training program entitled "𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡-𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥" held at the school auditorium last Aug. 19.

This orientation brought aspiring student journalists together to acquire more knowledge on journalism.

"𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙖 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜," Dr. Ramos reminded during her opening remarks.

𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙪𝙢 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙑𝙄 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝘿𝙧. 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙣 𝘽. 𝙍𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙨 reminded Batang Bayan of the responsibilities and requirements of being a good student journalist.

"𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧," Dr. Regino stated during her speech.

𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙑 𝘿𝙧. 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙯𝙤𝙣 𝙍. 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙤 also highlighted the importance of journalism in raising awareness and shedding light on stories that need to be heard.

After a thorough overview of each category, Batang Bayan tested their new knowledge during the training workshop with the guidance of MJ's editorial staff.
