Mandaluyong High School (MHS) teachers attended the ๐ฟ๐๐ซ๐๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐พ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐ฝ๐ช๐๐ก๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ค๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฎ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ผ๐๐๐๐จ๐จ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ (๐ผ๐๐ผ๐) as the program's volunteer tutors that addresses learning gaps, particularly in reading, held last Sept. 15 to 17.
This three-day seminar-workshop aimed to empower educators with the skills and knowledge to effectively implement the ARAL program.
๐๐ง. ๐๐๐ข๐ค๐ฃ ๐. ๐ฝ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐๐ค, ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐ช๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ง๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ข ๐๐ช๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ซ๐๐จ๐ค๐ง ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐ฃ๐๐ก๐๐จ๐, also highlighted the acronym ARAL as a guiding principle: Advancing Literacy, Responding to Learning Gaps, Amplifying Teachers' Efforts, and Leading Learners Toward Progress.
Data from Aug. 12 earlier this year showed that the program is set to benefit 6,676,952 Grades 1-10 learners, with a target of 445,130 tutors and 45,084 school heads. The participants also learned about the various delivery modes for tutorial sessions: face-to-face, online, and blended learning.
Furthermore, the workshop included the specific grouping of learners for ARAL-Reading based on assessment results from the Mother Tongue (MT), Filipino, and English, with tutorial sessions having a maximum of 15 learners. It was also clarified that for School Year 2025-2026, the ARAL program will focus exclusively on ARAL-Reading, as part of the initial phase of this national learning recovery initiative.
