TROPICAL CYCLONE: WARNING
ISSUED AT 2:00 PM, 15 April 2017

"CRISING" HAS MAINTAINED ITS COURSE AND CONTINUES TO ENDANGER SAMAR PROVINCES.
• Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to occasionally heavy within the 250 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.
• Expected to make landfall over Samar island this afternoon.
• Residents in areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
• Possible inclusion of Calamian group of Islands and Mindoro Provinces under TCWS 1 in the next bulletin.
Location of eye/center: At 1:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "CRISING" was estimated based on all available data at 130 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar(11.2°N, 126.9°E).
Strength: Maximum winds of up to 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 20 kph.

• 24 Hour( Tomorrow morning): 45 km Northwest of Roxas City, Capiz(11.9°N, 122.5°E)
• 48 Hour(Monday morning):305 km West Northwest of Coron, Palawan(13.4°N, 117.8°E)
• 72 Hour(Tuesday morning): 330 km West of Iba, Zambales(15.3°N, 116.9°E)
• 96 Hour(Wednesday morning):265 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur(17.6°N, 117.9°E)
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL
TCWS 1 (30-60 kph Expected in 36 hours):
Sorsogon, Burias island, Romblon, Masbate including Ticao island Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, Capiz, Northern Cebu, Northern Negros Occidental, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte and Southern Leyte.
Impacts of the wind:
• Very light or no damage to low risk structures,
• Light damage to medium to high risk structures
• Slight damage to some houses of very light materials or makeshift structures in exposed communities. Some banana plants are tilted, a few downed and leaves are generally damaged
• Twigs of small trees may be broken.
• Rice crops, however, may suffer significant damage when it is in its flowering stage.
Wave Height: (Open Sea) 1.25-4.0 meters
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
