WHAT PERPIE EATS LATELY

OCTOPUS
I found the Octopus on sale in the supermarket, and I served myself one. The girls couldn't stop ogling at what I was eating and asking me what's all that. It's a conversation starter, indeed.

HERBES DE PROVENCE CHICKEN WITH WHITE SAUCE
My herbes de provence chicken can go with or without a sauce. This white sauce is made with lots of shallots & garlic, a dash of white wine, and for sure, a cup or two of cooking cream.

PORK ADOBO
Craving for something Filipino and "taba" (fats)? Have some pork adobo!

PORK HUMBA
It's quite close to pork adobo but still different.

GREEN PEAS SOUP
My go-to soup that I usually make at wintertime. With or without ham or bacon, still a fave.

BACK TO MANILA SNAPS

As soon as we got ourselves back to Manila, off we went to visit Playa Calatagan in Batangas and returning back we chose to stay overnight in Tagaytay City. At that time, volcanic smog from Taal volcano loomed over Tagaytay city, due to low emissions of sulfur dioxide that result in hazy skies. So early morning en route back to Manila, we weren't able to see the Taal volcano clearly from afar. Oh well…

riding along the Instagram #❤️shm of the Savoy Hotel Manila.

So after many weeks of island hopping from Manila to Boracay, Boracay to Cebu, Cebu to Bohol, Bohol back to Cebu, Cebu to Siargao, Siargao to Cebu, from Cebu we're finally back to Manila.

The forage for Filipino food & restos continued on, and I only had a few days left in taking this chance, before I fly back to Belgium.

SIARGAO EATS

During our first day in , we had an Indonesian dinner in their in-house Warung restaurant.

The next dinner, off we went to .siargao where I wonderfully enjoyed a slow-barbequed smoke brisket.

We also discovered real good restaurants just near to our resort. Cool beach bar & restaurant .siargao , I finally got a pasta Negra, how I miss this really...

Then our first experience of the island's brownout happened during our Italian dinner .siargao , where the girls went loca over their pastas, while papa & mama with their pizzas. We wouldn't mind having a candlelight dinner, but that got interrupted after they switched on their electric generator and then later the electricity returned.

CLOUD 9 IN SIARGAO

Cloud 9 is one of the best surf spots in the world. Located on Siargao Island, Philippines, this is an incredible wave touched by the Pacific Ocean's swell and winds.

Surfing in Cloud 9 is a remarkable and stunning experience. The best months to hit the waves occur between September and March.

Cloud 9, also known as Cloud Nine and Boyums, offers a thick and hollow barreling left/right-hander ride. It is named after a locally-produced candy bar.
'Crowd 9' is one of the most surfed spots in Siargao due to several factors. First of course is the name. Being an internationally famous spot, it's the dream of anyone who comes to Siargao to get barreled at Cloud 9. Second is the easy accessability, Cloud 9 can be accessed by walking out a 100m from the tower in the village of Cloud 9. Third, this is the favorite spot for the locals as they don't have money to pay for boats to go to many of the other spots. Cloud 9 is free, easy to get to, and world famous.. how could it not be crowded?

Jacking Horse is a great beginner wave. Although it is a reef break, it has the feeling of a beach break/sandy bottom waves and is better for beginners than most waves in Siargao. Not nearly so big as Quiksilver or Cloud 9 yet located in the same area. The take-off is quite mellow and soft but Jacking Horse can deliver long, good quality right-handed waves.

Jacking Horse is conveniently located on the beach in the busy Cloud 9 area and is a great spot for beginners so it does get quite crowded. At all times of day you’ll see many instructors pushing students side by side in Jacking Horse.

BORACAY EATS

So hot in the PH, mango shake will quench our thirsts for sure…

We indeed felt that we’re back in Europe after that sumptuous dinner in Dos Mestizos Restaurant. The Spanish wine was such a delightful treat.

Dubbed as one of the famous and delicious mango ice cream in Boracay, and since we all love mangos, we went on for Halomango right away, after dinner, as dessert…

Filipino first syempre. Cornsilog for breakfast, Kare-kare, Bulalo, Pork bbq, and Mango cheesecake.
Then, an international mix. Japanese, Kebab, Pizzas!
And Iced coffee everywhere, everyday…

BORACAY’S KEYHOLE ROCK & STATION BEACHES

Particularly also known as Cujo’s Keyhole, the Keyhole Rock is one of Boracay's hidden gems, nestled among the island's many natural wonders. It's a distinctive rock formation that has quite literally been shaped by the force of nature over countless years, resulting in a structure featuring a perfectly formed 'keyhole' at its center.

The white beach of Boracay is known for being divided into three boat stations – Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3; all sharing this beach span.

Station 1 is the most beautiful part of White Beach. It’s here that you’ll find the iconic Willy’s Rock (grotto) and the row of blue-sailed paraw boats that have become synonymous with the island. Station 1 is best for accessibility for peace and quiet. Just next to it is Station 2, the busiest area in Boracay. Station 2 is the epicenter of all the action in Boracay. It has the largest number of hotels, resorts, bars, restaurants, and shops.

So, we went to Station 2 to get that d mall experience all over again; and to Station 1 to pay homage to Mother Mary at Willy’s Rock.
