LIE TO ME...
Tell me that you love me, lie to me, a sweet and sugared phrase,
Make me feel wanted, needed, lost within your dazzling maze.
Lie to me, pretend that I'm the sun around which you revolve,
Your whispered words, a siren song, my trusting heart resolves
To believe the fervent promises that tumble from your tongue,
But no matter how you speak of it, how loudly it is sung,
In the quietness of your actions, a different story's told,
A silent narrative unfolds, a truth far colder, bold.
The empty promises, like shadows, stretch and then they fade,
The gentle touch, a fleeting ghost, a love that's quickly swayed
By other winds, by other hearts, a truth I can't ignore,
The lies you weave, a fragile web, that holds me fast no more.
