On the "Can I Come In?" podcast, actress Liza Soberano opened up about her harrowing childhood marked by abuse, neglect, and instability.
She revealed that her mother struggled with crystal m**h addiction, her father was involved in criminal activities and later deported, and she and her baby brother were left in unsafe care.
Liza recounted being taken by her mother’s boyfriend, living in a stolen van, appearing on the news as a missing child, and enduring violent assaults.
She also detailed the severe abuse she suffered under a foster guardian, who starved and humiliated her, until a social worker noticed the signs.
Despite these experiences, Liza admitted she felt conditioned to protect her mother, often lying to authorities out of fear and misplaced loyalty.
