𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗠 | The College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences made waves in the 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗸𝗼𝗹 as their entry, 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀, captured the spotlight and earned the 4th Runner-Up award. The film bravely explores the complexities of s*x work—shedding light on its struggles, dignity, and the pursuit of decent work in society.

𝗠𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗦. 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗻, who portrayed the lead role of lena, received a special citation for Best Acting Performance moving the audience with her powerful portrayal of a woman whose life and labor lead her to a haunting yet meaningful “𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦".

Di —indeed, money can’t buy happiness as the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences proved that true artistry and advocacy go beyond material worth as their 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗸𝗮𝘀 clinched 6th Runner-Up. Their powerful piece shed light on the pressing issue of single-use plastics, portraying how negligence leads to pollution while emphasizing collective action as the key to solutions.

Meanwhile, the stage blazed with energy during the Theatre-Athlon competition, where CFAS’ performance of “& 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘁" electrified the entire gymnasium. With their creative storytelling and commanding stage presence, the team rose and dances through the podium and awarded as the 2nd Runner-up for this year's 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲-𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗼𝗻—a testament to their passion, teamwork, and theatrical brilliance. Another trophy for CFAS by the Theatre-athlon performance!

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗗𝗣 |The College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS) once again made waves in this year’s 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 2025, securing 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘴.

The awarding ceremony began with the much-anticipated 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, where CFAS gracefully landed as 4th Runner-Up in the Extemporaneous Speech Category, following last year’s podium finish. Despite a strong performance, Ms. Marcilla narrowly missed the podium in this year's event, showcasing nonetheless her poise and intellect.

Next came the Declamation Speech category , where Ms. Magan impressed the audience with her powerful delivery highlighting the SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, earning 5th Runner-up for her heartfelt performance.

Capping off the night with a triumphant finale, the duo of Laranjo and Dueñas made a remarkable comeback in the Improvise Duo category—𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿'𝘀 2𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗗 this year! Their wit, chemistry, and spontaneity brought the house down and sealed CFAS’s victory on the Literary Night stage.

Indeed, the Anglers proved that their voices are as powerful as their tides—anchored in passion, creativity, and excellence.

𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗚𝗦𝗖 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺

Mindanao State University–General Santos City once again proved its excellence after placing second among the top performing schools in the October 2025 Fisheries Professionals Licensure Examination.

The university recorded an overall passing rate of 85.88%, with 86.84% of first-time takers successfully passing the board. This is notably higher than the 69.61% national passing rate released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The examination was held on October 9 to 10, 2025, and results were announced on October 15, 2025.

𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | Sa baseball game nga gipahigayon sa MSU-GSC Quadrangle niadtong Oktubre 15, 2025, gipakita sa CFAS ang ilang kusog human nila mapildi ang COED sa iskor nga 11-0.

Kusog ang depensa ug maayo ang coordination sa Anglers, hinungdan nga wa gyud kabuto ang Mentors sa tibuok duwa.

Sa scoring side, kontrolado sa CFAS ang ritmo sa duwa, samtang nakigbisog ang COED aron makasulod sa depensa.

Bisan wala sila nakapuntos, nagpabilin silang determinado hangtod sa katapusan.

Human sa duwa, gipanghimatuud sa opisyal ang resulta ug giila ang Anglers nga nakakuha sa bronse medalya sa baseball event.

𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | In the flow of hopes and melodies, College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences rode the waves of music at this year’s Musical Night.

The Anglers proudly secured 5th runner-up in Vocal Solo, 1st runner-up in Vocal Duet, 3rd runner-up in Quartet, and emerged as Champion in Acoustic Band.

Their music flowed like the tides — strong, steady, and full of life — proving that the spirit of Anglers runs deep and true.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | Displaying steady form and endurance in the water, Hassiah Samijon of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS) earned three silver medals and two bronze medals in the swimming competition held on October 14, 2025, at LC5.

Participants from different colleges in MSU-GSC competed across various swimming categories during the event, showcasing their skills and endurance in each race.

Samijon delivered an impressive performance across multiple events, securing a total of five medals, three silvers and two bronzes.

She claimed silver medals in the 25-meter breaststroke, 50-meter breaststroke, and 100-meter individual medley, while earning bronze medals in the 50-meter backstroke and 50-meter freestyle.

Angler Samijon’s results added to CFAS’s overall medal tally, demonstrating the college’s consistent performance in swimming events.
