A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck near Davao Oriental today, October 10, 2025, with tremors felt across Region 12. In response, the Department of Education in General Santos City immediately suspended all classes to ensure public safety in public areas throughout the city.

Following the event, GSDMSFI successfully carried out an evacuation with no casualties reported. All buildings were promptly cleared, and everyone was instructed to return home. All Dokistas are strongly advised to remain cautious, stay alert for possible aftershocks, and limit outdoor activities for the time being.
