🚀 Tech Update: Globe × Starlink Direct-to-Cell Service
Globe has introduced G Starlink, a satellite-to-cell service designed to help users stay connected in areas with little or no Globe mobile signal.
📱 Current observations:
* SMS (send & receive)
* GlobeOne
* GCash
* Google Maps
* Facebook Messenger (text, voice, and video calls may work, but quality can vary)
* X (formerly Twitter)
❌ Based on current testing, Viber does not appear to work.
⚠️ Important:
This is not a replacement for Starlink Home Internet. It is intended as a complementary service for locations without regular cellular coverage. Performance depends on satellite availability, a clear view of the sky, and compatible devices.
🧪 I’ll be testing this in a remote area with no mobile signal this weekend and will share the results.
