SIKAT KA Karate Club Graduation Ceremony
On November 10, 2024, the Barangay Apopong Gymnasium was filled with excitement and pride as the SIKAT KA Karate Club held its highly anticipated graduation ceremony. The event marked a significant milestone for the club’s dedicated martial arts students, who have worked hard throughout the year to improve their skills and knowledge in karate. This ceremony was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the SIKAT KA Program, and the Alpha Combat Force Association Incorporated, organizations committed to promoting discipline, sportsmanship, and self-defense within the community.
The graduation ceremony commenced with a grand opening, as the sounds of martial arts performances echoed throughout the gymnasium. The students, dressed in their clean uniforms, showcased their newly acquired skills with precision and confidence. Each kata forms and sparring session demonstrated the level of discipline and commitment the participants had shown during their training. It was clear from the display that many had gone beyond the basics, advancing to higher levels of expertise.
SIKAT KA Karate Club, known for its emphasis on building not just physical strength but mental focus, celebrated the achievement of its students across different ranks. The ceremony featured speeches from key figures in the community, including members of the Barangay Council who were present at that time, Hon. Helen Javier, Hon. Ejay Espalabra and Barangay Secretary Hon. Mai Supilanas, the SIKAY KA Coordinator Chrisly Jay L. Lato, Alpha Combat Force Founder Captain Francisco Protacio and the SIKAT KA Karate Club Coach, Master Kenneth Galamporte. A heartfelt message from the program’s founder emphasized the importance of martial arts in instilling values such as respect, perseverance, and humility. The graduates were encouraged to continue their journey of personal development, not just in martial arts but in all aspects of their lives.
Hon. Jose Paolo Jude L. Natovidad, our very own Punong Barangay, who were at that moment is having his seminar, also took time to offer words of wisdom. "Karate is not just about fighting," he said, "It’s about growing as a person—mentally, emotionally, and physically." This sentiment resonated with the graduates, reminding them that the true essence of martial arts lies in the transformation it fosters within.
As the ceremony came to a close, each student was called to the stage to receive their certificate, belt advancement, and recognition for their hard work and commitment. The moment was emotional for many as they were recognized for their accomplishments, with family members and friends cheering proudly from the sidelines.
