On September 24, Wednesday, the Department of Mechanical Engineering from Mindanao Polytechnic College showed active participation in Mechanical Engineering Day X Team Building for the year 2025, held at the MPC school grounds. With the theme โConnecting Minds Like Machines, Achieving Goals Through Shared Engineering Spirit,โ the event brought students together in a day filled with fun, teamwork, and camaraderie.
As the event formally commenced, the Mechanical Engineering Department (OIC) Engr. Clven Roy G. Mercado, RME, warmly welcomed mechanical engineering students with his welcome address on today's ME Day for the year 2025. This was followed by the inspirational message of the PSIM VP Deputy Mindanao, Engr. John Michael C. Brey, PME. In his inspiring message, he highlighted the essence of teamwork and collaboration as he stated that "We need each other to function; with our combined strength, we become unstoppable," truly inspiring everyone at this event.
Another message came from Engr. Rolando Lamparero, PME. As for his message, he strongly believes that connection is really important, as this serves as a stepping stone to achieve specific goals not only academically but also in life. Lastly, a message of support by the OSAS Director, Rolly Joe A. Jonilas โ his message welcomed and encouraged mechanical students to maintain the greatness and the glory of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
The mechanical engineering students were divided into four competitive teams: Gear Grinders, Bolt Busters, Piston Fighters, and Torque Titans, which competed and battled through the day. The Mechanical Engineering Day X Team Building 2025 featured a series of activities and competitions that combined both intellectual and physical challenges for mechanical students. In the morning, they participated in activities such as QuizMEch 2025, the Engineering Trail, and the Basketball Championship Round. In the afternoon, students enjoyed traditional Larong Pinoy games such as patintero, limbo rack, sack race, card and flour, iluganay lubi, and longest line. Championship matches for Mobile Legends, chess, table tennis, and badminton were also held. The event truly fostered a sense of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and teamwork among mechanical engineering students.
As the event closed, the mechanical engineering students of Mindanao Polytechnic College embodied the theme, showing that when minds connect like machines, success becomes a shared victory.
