One chapter ends, Another begins.
Today, I proudly celebrate earning my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Technology Education, a milestone built on perseverance, sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning.
My doctoral journey began in the Second Semester of Academic Year 2017–2018 and concluded in the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026. It was a long road, not because I lacked determination, but because life required me to move at my own pace.
I was never denied. I was simply delayed.
There were moments of uncertainty, challenges that tested my resolve, and responsibilities that demanded my time. Yet, I never allowed those circumstances to define the outcome of my journey. Instead, they strengthened my character and reminded me that true success belongs to those who refuse to quit.
This achievement would not have been possible without the grace of God and the unwavering love and support of my family, mentors, colleagues, friends, and everyone who believed in me throughout these years. Your encouragement became my strength during the most difficult moments.
As I embrace the title of Dr. Ian L. Tiao, I do so with humility, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to serve, teach, conduct meaningful research, and inspire others through education.
To everyone who is still chasing a dream, remember this: Your timeline is different, but your destination is still possible. Success is not about who finishes first, it is about who refuses to stop.
