“Every Age Has a Portion”
When I first came into the church life, I felt too new to be useful. I didn’t know the hymns, I barely knew the Bible.
But then I read in Numbers — the Israelites under twenty didn’t fight battles, but they surrounded the tabernacle, guarding God’s testimony. That hit me. My simple “Amen” in a meeting, my first praise to the Lord — those were protecting the church life.
Then I saw the young people, strong and bold, fighting the spiritual battle and gaining new ground for the Lord. And the older saints, steady and rich in Christ, bearing the “Ark,” the lampstand, the altars — ministering Christ in so many ways.
I realized the Lord needs all ages. New ones to keep the tabernacle. Young ones to fight the battle. Older ones to bear Christ in His riches.
So no matter your age, you have a portion today. Take it. Function. Together, we can be God’s living testimony on the earth.
