Soft inside, cheesy-sweet outside that’s Filipino cheese bread.
400 g bread flour
7 g Instant yeast
60 g sugar
5 Salt
200g Warm milk
1 whole egg + yolk
60 g Butter ( softened )
Cheese Streusel Coating
200 g all purpose flour
140 g sugar
100 g powdered milk
200 g cheese ( cheddar or processed cheese )
120 g softened butter
Milk ( for dipping)
Make the dough :
•In a bowl, mix flour and yeast.
•Add warm milk, sugar, butter, egg and salt, then mix until a rough dough forms.
•knead (by hand 10–12 mins or mixer 8 mins) until smooth and elastic.
•Form into a ball, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
Make the cheese streusel:
•Combine flour, sugar, powdered milk, and grated cheese.
•Add butter and mix with fingertips until crumbly.
Shape the bread:
•Punch down dough and divide into 48 pieces (about 20-21 g each).
•Shape into smooth balls.
•Dip each small dough ball into the milk
•roll each ball in the cheese streusel, pressing lightly so it sticks.
•Arrange on a baking tray and let rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake:
•Bake at 170°C for 15–18 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Air fry
Temperature: 320°F (160°C)Time: 6-8 minutes
•Preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes.
•Place rolls in the basket, leaving space between each.
•Air-fry until light golden.
