Twenty-three teachers from Buenavista National High School have reached a major career milestone after earning promotions under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System of the Department of Education.
The newly promoted educators joined fellow teachers and school heads from across the region in the historic Mass Oathtaking of Newly Promoted Teachers and School Heads of Western Visayas, held on April 27, 2026 at Villareal Stadium, Roxas City, Capiz. The ceremony marked a significant moment for the education sector, celebrating the advancement and recognition of public school teachers.
The oathtaking was led by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, who administered the oath of office.
Also present at the event was President Bongbong Marcos, who delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the administrationโs dedication to uplifting the teaching profession. In his speech, he assured educators that reforms are underway to ensure that no teacher will retire while remaining in the entry-level Teacher I positionโan announcement that drew strong support and optimism from attendees.
For the 23 teachers from Buenavista National High School, the promotion reflects years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to quality education. Their participation in the mass oathtaking not only formalized their new roles but also symbolized a shared vision of growth and excellence within the education system.
The event stands as a testament to the governmentโs ongoing efforts to elevate the status of teachers, providing them with clearer opportunities for progression, recognition, and long-term career fulfillment.
