COED disseminates research findings
To explore how evidence-based strategies can elevate private school teacher development through targeted extension efforts, on 18 July 2025, the Audio-Visual Room of the Senior High School Building at Immaculate Conception School of Guiuan, Inc. became the venue for a pivotal dissemination activity attended by academic leaders, faculty researchers, and school stakeholders both from Eastern Samar State University - Guiuan Campus and Immaculate Conception School of Guiuan, Inc.
The dissemination of the research titled: "Awareness and Attitude of Novice Private School Teachers Toward Mentorship Practices," presented by Mr. Alvin A. Daga and co-authored with Dr. Eddie C. Manzano and Mrs. Joanna Len B. Padullo, highlighted the critical importance of mentorship in professional teacher development. The study investigated the levels of awareness and attitudes among novice private school teachers, focusing on indicators such as classroom management, lesson planning, emotional support, and professional growth. Research findings served as a basis for actionable recommendations during the extension activity, which emphasized strengthening mentorship support systems in lesson design, emotional resilience, and goal-setting strategies. The outcome signals a deliberate shift toward evidence-informed practices in in-service training and extension programming, allowing institutions to integrate mentorship frameworks directly into policy and classroom culture. The Bachelor of Secondary Education Program Head, Dr. Manuella P. Sison, formally ended the activity with a closing remark.
As discussions closed and insights were gathered, the activity underscored how locally grounded research can generate solutions that resonate with community realities. The commitment to translating data into development reflects Eastern Samar State Universityโs enduring mission to integrate instruction, research, and extension while upholding excellence, accountability, and service. Through such initiatives, the university and its partners continue to model how meaningful collaboration can lead to transformative educational experiences for teachers and learners alike. ยถ
