BulSU Drops 4 Day Work-week, Going Back to Monday Online Classes
On March 6, 2026, The Bulacan State University (BulSU) Office of the President issued a protocol to strictly conserve energy, directing to all campuses, colleges, and offices.
A four-day work week is implemented, work from home and synchronous classes must be observed every Monday starting from March 9, 2026 until further announcements.
However, these arrangements are not applied to General Services Offices, Security Services, and University Drivers, who must still continue to report on-site to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential services.
Among the units required to maintain a skeleton workforce on Mondays are the Registrar’s Office, Accounting Office, Cashier’s Office, Budget Office, Information and Communications Technology Office, Human Resource Management and Development Office, Procurement Office, Asset Management Office, and the University Infirmary or Clinic. Office heads must ensure appropriate personnel complement while observing prescribed energy measures.
The memorandum also instructed vice presidents and directors to review and reschedule previously approved activities on March 9 to comply with the energy conservation directive, particularly those involving official travel that are not considered essential.
All offices are directed to strictly observe the university’s energy efficiency and conservation policy, in accordance with Office Memorandum No. 2026-0302 issued by the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance on March 2, 2026.
The directive emphasized that responsible stewardship of resources is a shared responsibility that reflects the university’s commitment to institutional efficiency and to the welfare of the nation. It also called on the university community to remain united in its efforts and to continue hoping for peace, harmony, and understanding across the world. | Yzavel Reyes/Piscatores
