Ipinagdiwang ngayong umaga sa Himamaylan National High School ang unang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika na may temang “𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘢𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘪𝘬𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢.”

Iba’t ibang patimpalak ang isinagawa kagaya ng 𝘛𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘰, 𝘗𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵, at 𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘮 na nagbigay daan upang maipamalas ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang husay, galing, at malikhaing talento.

Pinangunahan ng Filipino Department sa pakikipagtulungan ng mga g**o sa Filipino ang programa, at nilahukan ito ng maraming estudyante mula sa iba’t ibang baitang.

Sa bawat patimpalak, ipinakita ng mga kalahok ang kanilang kahusayan at pagmamahal sa sariling wika.

Inaasahan namang mas marami pang aktibidad ang idaraos sa susunod na linggo bilang pagpapatuloy ng masayang selebrasyon ng Buwan ng Wika.

Kabilang sa mga kategorya ang Pagsulat ng Kolum, Pagsulat ng Editoryal, Pagsulat ng Agham at Teknolohiya, at Pagsulat ng Lathalain.

Gaganapin ito sa Agosto 27, 2025, ganap na ika-8 ng umaga sa Silid Aklatan ng Himamaylan National High School.

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐬' 𝐃𝐚𝐲: 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲

Every August, we celebrate National Heroes' Day to honor those Filipinos who have fought for our country to have freedom and independence. They did not fight only for themselves — but for the generation after theirs. National Heroes Day isn't just a holiday — it is a national reminder of the sacrifices made by Filipinos, both known, and unknown.

National Heroes day does not only give privilege to those who are famous, like: Dr. Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, or Emilio Aguinaldo. It is also for the ordinary individuals who give their all for our country. Their love for our nation is endless, and we will be forever grateful for them.

Each one of us has different "superheroes". Every single person who has shown their love, help, and service to someone can be considered as a hero. Teachers who teach us knowledge for a better future, doctors and nurses that never leave us until death, engineers and carpenters who made our houses, bridges, establishments, and roads, farmers who have never stopped providing our food, policemen and firefighters who have always been there for us whenever we were in danger, drivers that always send us to the place we want to go safe and sound, and of course our parents that have been our knight and shining armor in every aspect of our life.

The observance of this day is not only an act of remembrance, but also a call to reflection. True heroism is not solely measured in grand gestures like fighting, it is also found in acts of service, integrity, braveness, and willingness for the country.

National Heroes' Day challenges us to carry forward the legacy of courage, and selflessness. We should not leave heroism only in the past — we should continue doing it. It is something we must protect through honesty, unity, and responsibility.

By honoring our heroes, we need to keep their memory alive, and though celebrating it as a holiday is already one — but we should continue their legacy by living with courage, loving others, and loving our respected country.

𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗽𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻

Sa pagbubukas ng Agosto 21, isang araw na puno ng alaala at pag-asa, ating ipinagdiriwang ang anibersaryo ng pagkamatay ng dating Senador ng Pilipinas na si 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 "𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆" 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗿. isang bayani na ang buhay ay naging makulay na rosas ng pag-asa at pagtindig para sa katotohanan at katarungan.

Ang kanyang mga yapak sa landas ng kasaysayan ay nag-iwan ng malalim na marka.

Sa pagdiriwang na ito, ating inaalala ang kanyang mga sakripisyo at ang kanyang papel sa pagbubukas ng bagong yugto sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas, tulad ng isang malaking pintuang nagbukas sa isang bagong mundo ng kalayaan at demokrasya.

Si Ninoy Aquino ay isang simbolo ng pag-asa at katatagan para sa mga Pilipino, tulad ng isang malakas na punong hindi natitinag ng unos at bagyo.

Ang kanyang tapang at pagmamahal sa bayan ay nagbigay-inspirasyon sa maraming Pilipino upang ipaglaban ang kanilang mga karapatan at kalayaan, tulad ng apoy na nagbibigay liwanag sa bawat landas na tinatahak.

Ang kanyang pagkamatay ay naging hudyat upang ang mga Pilipino ay magkaisa at lumaban para sa pagbabago.

Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay pagkakataon upang ipakita ang pagmamahal sa bayan at pagtindig para sa katotohanan at katarungan, tulad ng isang malakas na tinig na sabay-sabay na isinisigaw.

Nawa’y patuloy tayong tumindig para sa katotohanan at katarungan, at ipagpatuloy ang laban para sa pagbabago, tulad ng isang malakas na ilog na hindi natutuyo.

Bigyang-pugay ang alaala ni Ninoy Aquino at ng iba pang mga bayani na lumaban para sa Pilipinas, tulad ng isang monumentong hindi kailanman malilimutan.

Nawa’y ang kanyang pagmamahal sa bayan at pagtindig para sa katotohanan at katarungan ay magbigay-inspirasyon sa atin upang patuloy na lumaban para sa isang mas magandang Pilipinas.

𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐇𝐍𝐇𝐒-𝐒𝐏𝐒𝐓𝐄 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐄

The Special Program in Science, Technology, and Engineering (HNHS-SPSTE) has earned three coveted slots in the Sibol Category for the Visayas Cluster Finals of the Department of Science and Technology–Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST–TAPI), highlighting the school’s continued excellence in fostering innovation and academic distinction among young researchers.

The Sibol Category is part of the Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits by Cluster (ClusteRICE), and is designed to spotlight creative research projects by students that address pressing societal issues.

This year’s Visayas Cluster Finals will be held on August 27–28 at the Philippine Science High School–Eastern Visayas Campus in Palo, Leyte, bringing together top student innovators from Regions VI, VII, and VIII.

Representing HNHS-SPSTE are eight student researchers — Aia B. Suertegosa, Naraiza Francel B. Grijaldo, Starlyn Faye G. Vargas, Rehnyle Gaile S. Palma, Claire T. Campaner, Michelle I. Paycol, Amara Christia V. Delictura, and Gwen Carylle G. Acha — guided by faculty advisers Rick Jhan P. Hiponia, Karyl L. Morano, and Shiela Mae S. Navarro, who played a key role in mentoring the teams.

The projects span various scientific and engineering fields, all emphasizing sustainability. Building on its earlier NCR success, HNHS-SPSTE now advances to the Visayas ClusteRICE showcase, bringing pride to Himamaylan and highlighting Negros Occidental’s role in Philippine research and development. As the competition nears, the team stays focused on delivering practical, real-world solutions.

𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟕 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲

Amidst the cozy blankets and midnight conversations, the Grade 7 Acquaintance Party centered around the powerful motto—"Unite, Connect, Thrive"—promises an unforgettable experience filled with friendship, camaraderie, and lifelong memories with it's "Slumber Party" theme.

The program kicked off with the National Anthem, fostering reverence for the flag and unity among students. Following it, they then bowed their heads in prayer, seeking the guidance and the presence of our Lord and Saviour.

Then, to officially start the fun, an opening message was delivered by the Grade 7 coordinator, Ma’am Florebelle D. Alipo-on. The table of judges were then introduced by Ma’am Shiela Mae S. Navarro, a Grade 7 adviser.

The excitement truly began when a battle of dance moves, energy, and competition filled the covered court with a TikTok challenge.

The program continued with a series of parlor games with the enthusiastic participation of the Grade 7 students and their advisers. Afterwards, students then enjoyed a shared meal with their respective sections.

To wrap up the event, prizes were awarded to the winners of the TikTok dance challenge and the parlor games.

The event was truly a core memory for our freshmen’s first year in Himamaylan National High School (HNHS). Today was not just about the food, games, and prizes—it was about building friendships, and creating memories that will surely last a lifetime.

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟏𝟐 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐈𝐋 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦

Thirty-four groups of grade 12 students conducted a symposium about Media and Information Literacy entitled "Madmad: See it right, Share it Wise" with the theme, "Truth over Trends: Shaping Media-Literacy Minds to Combat Information Disorder" earlier today in school campus on grades seven and 10.

The activity was spearheaded by students from the Accountancy and Business Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), Science, Technology, and Engineering (STEM), and Sports Strands.

A total of 22 groups composed of ABM, HUMSS, TVL, and Sports students facilitated simultaneous sessions in the morning on 7th grade learners, while 12 groups of STEM and HUMSS students led the afternoon sessions with 10th grade learners.

The word "madmad" in Hiligaynon means full wakefulness, a state of being completely alert, aware, and clear-minded. This captures the very heart of our symposium: to awaken students to the growing threat of information disorder in today's digital world," Sir Richard Dioteles, their Media and Information Literacy focal person, said.

The symposium aims to produce students that can see past inaccurate and misleading content, distinguish truths from lies, and only share fact-driven information.

Last year, this effort was launched by the Senior High School Media and Information Literacy teachers — Sir Manuel Garcia, Ma’am Roselyn Villacarlos, Sir Frederick Reginio — and their focal person, Sir Richard Dioteles.

Through the collective effort of teachers and students alike, this initiative can go a long way in contributing to media awareness and assessment especially in this digital age.

The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) voters’ registration, which officially began on August 1, was conducted at Himamaylan National High School’s covered court, led by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) staff.

The event started at 8 a.m. and ended at 5 p.m., with COMELEC and school personnel assisting registrants throughout the process.

‎Tables were set up for data verification, form filling, and ID validation to ensure an organized operation.

Individuals were required to bring a valid government-issued ID along with their birth certificate to verify their identity.
‎
‎The initiative featured the importance of electing qualified and capable officials, which served a vital role in the delivery of basic services of local community programs.
‎
‎Citizens are encouraged to participate and ensure their voices and choices are heard in the upcoming elections.

𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻!

Umarangkada muli ang masiglang selebrasyon ng Nutrition Month sa Himamaylan National High School ngayong hapon ng Agosto 6, matapos ang matagumpay na pagbubukas ng programa nitong umaga.

Ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral mula sa iba't ibang baitang ang kanilang pagkamalikhain sa pamamagitan ng Headdress Competition, gamit ang iba’t ibang materyales na bumagay sa temang "Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority. Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin."

Bukod pa rito, ipinahayag din ng mga mag aaral ang kanilang suporta sa adbokasiya ng nutrisyon sa naganap na Poster Making Contest, kung saan naging daan ang sining upang maipakita ang kahalagahan ng sapat at ligtas na pagkain.

Bilang bahagi ng isinagawang aktibidad, itinampok din ang eksibit ng iba’t ibang halimbawa ng Go, Grow, and Glow foods.

Nagtagpo naman ang sigla at lasa sa isinagawang Backyard Cooking, kung saan sama-samang nagluto at nagsalo-salo ang mga mag-aaral ng masustansyang pagkain na sila mismo ang naghanda.

Pinatunayan ng aktibong partisipasyon ng bawat mag aaral na ang pagkakaisa at kaalaman ay mahalagang sangkap sa pagsusulong ng adbokasiyang pangkalusugan at pang-nutrisyon sa paaralan.

Nutrition Month Culminating Activity, Pormal nang Sinimulan

Makulay ang buhay!

Sa temang “Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority. Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin,” pormal nang sinimulan ngayong araw, Agosto 6, 2025, ang Culminating Activity para sa Buwan ng Nutrisyon sa Himamaylan National High School.

Matapos ang masiglang parada sa paligid ng oval nitong umaga, agad na sinundan ito ng Fruits/Vegetable Headdress Competition kung saan ang mga kinatawan ng bawat seksyon ay rumampa suot ang kanilang malikhaing headdress na yari sa prutas at gulay, ang aktibidad na ito ay pinangunahan nina Gng. Arimas at Bb. Tibus.

Pagkatapos nito ay sinimulan ang Opening Program sa pamamagitan ng panalangin at pag-awit ng Pambansang Awit na pinangunahan ng mga estudyante mula sa SPA, sinundan ito ng mainit na pagbati mula kay Chloe L. Juanga, PhD, Principal III ng paaralan, at ipinakilala naman ni Ma'am Esther M. Tanate ang panauhing pandangal na si Hadja Queen C. Chua, RN, MN, na nagbahagi ng makabuluhang mensahe tungkol sa kahalagahan ng tamang nutrisyon at food security..

Pagkatapos ng seremonyang pagbubukas, sinimulan na rin ang iba't ibang aktibidad tulad ng Backyard Cooking per Section, Poster Making Competition, at Fruits and Vegetable Display sa covered court na nagpakita ng galing at pagkamalikhain ng mga mag-aaral.

Isa lamang ito sa mga tampok na bahagi ng buong araw na selebrasyon, na patuloy pang masusundan ng mas maraming paligsahan at masayang aktibidad, itong Culminating Activity ay patunay ng pagsisikap ng paaralan na mapalalim ang kamalayan ng mga kabataan sa kahalagahan ng wastong nutrisyon bilang bahagi ng kanilang karapatang pantao.
