Finals season is officially here, and the pressure is definitely kicking in. From sleepless nights and overwhelming readings to those last-minute review sessions, students everywhere are feeling the weight of it all. ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

But pause for a moment and remember how far youโ€™ve already come. Every lecture attended, every note highlighted, every sacrifice made, and every challenge faced has prepared you for this. This isnโ€™t about being perfect, itโ€™s about recognizing your growth and giving your best. ๐Ÿ’ช

Celebrating the Heartbeat of the Workforce

Every morning rises over busy streets, classrooms, farms, hospitals, construction sites and more. Across the nation, workers begin another day, bringing skill, dedication, and purpose to every task. Labor Day serves as a meaningful reminder that progress is shaped by the efforts of ordinary people whose work sustains communities and drives society forward.

Dedication defines every profession. Teachers inspire and shape young minds, farmers provide every drop of nourishment, healthcare workers offer healing, and laborers build the foundations of modern life. Though their contributions often go unnoticed, their impact reaches every home, every industry, and every generation.

Labor Day honors more than just a day off from work or a work itself. It's a day to celebrates the resilience, sacrifice, and determination behind every accomplishment. Each worker playing crucial role in the nation's growth and success. As this day is celebrated, thankfulness should extend to all whose hands and hearts continue to build a stronger, brighter future for everyone.

More than just a contest, the event served as a high-stakes platform for WVSU-HCC "Taga-West" students to bridge the gap between academic theory and industry standards. The universityโ€™s representatives demonstrated exceptional composure and technical skill:

Representing the high-caliber training of WVSU-HCC, HM students Merv Hope Aguilar and Jayson Lumontad transformed service into an art form in Flair Bartending, while IT bets Allyna Vargas and Clifford Garnizo showcased the digital precision and creative problem-solving central to their program in Logo Making.

A highlight of the event was a formal meeting with TESDA NIR Regional Director Niรฑa Connie Dodd, who acknowledged the studentsโ€™ role as future pillars of the regional workforce, their participation was backed by the highest levels of leadership, with Governor B**g Lacson and TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez emphasizing that skilled youth are the province's greatest asset.

By competing on the provincial stage, these WVSU-HCC students proved that they are not just learners, but industry-ready professionals capable of carrying the "Sa TESDA, Kayang Kaya" spirit into the real world. | via Ronil Sazon

Dr. Rothsel T. Cabatac, Dr. Genesis G. Camarista, and Mrs. Meraly S. Degillo have gained recognition after securing third place in the Best Paper category at the International Extension Conference of the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors, Inc. (PAEPI) 2026.

They were cited for their extension project paper on Project ROSE, or Revitalizing Opportunities for Sustainable Education, an initiative that combines functional literacy training with psychosocial support for adult and parent learners in Sitio Rose, Barangay Santol.

Their extension project paper highlighted how addressing both educational and emotional needs can improve participation and learning outcomes among adult learners in marginalized communities.

The team reported that beneficiaries of the program showed increased confidence, better engagement in sessions, and a stronger role in supporting their childrenโ€™s education.

PAEPI 2026 affirmed the role of researchers in advancing extension work that is both data-driven and community-centered, contributing to inclusive and sustainable development. via | Charmaine Garcia

Carrying the theme โ€œNext-Gen Extension: Driving Socioeconomic Change for Inclusive Community Development,โ€ the gathering highlighted the growing role of innovation and science-based interventions in addressing community needs, particularly in agriculture, food security, and environmental sustainability.

Among those who represented WVSU-HCC were Dr. Genesis G. Camarista, Dr. Rothsel T. Cabatac, Dr. Almar J. Java, Dr. Jonalyn B. Duhaylungsod, Dr. Genevi F. Geroche, and Mr. Joel C. Camaso.
