Thrilling Taekwondo Unfolds At ANHS
Amungan National High School, located in Iba Zambales, was the stage for an exhilarating taekwondo tournament on January 11, 2024. The event brought together talented athletes from Micro Asia College of Science and Technology (MACSAT), Amungan National High School (ANHS), and St. Augustine School (SAS) for a display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
The tournament showcased the remarkable talents of the ANHS taekwondo team, consisting of Jan Laurence Pamitangco, Vhince Hendrix Calixtro, Johnwill Molino, John Zedrick Fortin, and Jane Ashley Farareza. Among them, Vhince Hendrix Calixtro, Johnwill Molino, and John Zedrick Fortin had already secured their spots as zonal qualifiers, while Jan Laurence Pamitangco and Jane Ashley Farareza fought valiantly for the remaining zonal qualification spots.
The game kicked off with an exhilarating boys' round match between Amungan National High School (Jan Laurence Pamitangco) and Micro Asia College of Science and Technology. In a closely contested battle, despite Jan Laurence's impressive performance, MACSAT emerged victorious, showcasing their exceptional skills and securing the win. The girls' first round followed, featuring a intense competition between St. Agustine School (SAS) and MACSAT. Once again, MACSAT displayed their dominance, claiming another well-deserved victory.
The Second round witnessed an extraordinary performance by ANHS (Jane Ashley Farareza), who showcased her exceptional technique and precision. With a powerful roundhouse kick, Jane secured a remarkable win for ANHS against her opponent from SAS. The third and last round showcased a thrilling clash between SAS and MACSAT. In an intense battle, SAS showed their expertise and won the third game, adding another exciting chapter to the tournament.
The taekwondo tournament at Amungan National High School was a testament to the hard work and dedication of all the participants. Each match was a display of agility, strength, and strategy, captivating the audience and leaving them in awe of the athletes' skills.
