The Provincial Government of Ifugao, through its Provincial Tourism Office, in coordination with the Department of Tourism โ CAR, conducted the Basic Tourism Statistics Orientation Workshop on June 30, 2026 at the Provincial Capitol in Lagawe, Ifugao.
The activity gathered 23 participants from the Ifugao Provincial Tourism Office and various municipalities across the province, equipping tourism officers and representatives with a deeper understanding of the Standard Local Tourism Statistics System (SLTSS), including the forms, processes, and tools used for tourism data collection, consolidation, and reporting.
Serving as resource speaker, the DOT-CAR team led interactive discussions and hands-on coaching sessions on the proper encoding, processing, and generation of tourism reports using automated templates and digital platforms.
Accurate and reliable tourism statistics play a vital role in monitoring visitor movements, identifying development opportunities, and guiding strategic planning. By strengthening local capacities in data management and reporting, tourism stakeholders can produce timely and dependable information that supports evidence-based decision-making, effective destination management, and sustainable tourism growth.
Through initiatives such as this, the DOT-CAR continues to work closely with local government units and tourism partners in advancing a data-driven tourism sector across the Cordillera region.
