On August 14, 2025, at 8:00 AM, the School of Midwifery held its departmental orientation at the amphitheater, 2nd floor of the CAHS building. The event warmly welcomed students and provided essential information for the upcoming academic year.
The orientation featured significant discussions led by the faculty of the SOM department together with special speakers. Ms. Frances Ivy C. Valdez, GAD Representative, opened the session by emphasizing the importance of gender and development awareness, reminding students to value inclusivity and respect in both their academic journey and clinical practice. Following her, Ms. Zyrene C. Sawit, JD, the Campus Registrar, delivered an informative talk on academic policies and procedures.
She highlighted student responsibilities regarding enrollment, records management, and compliance with university regulations. Finally, Ms. Cherry Ann Sansano, the Clinical Coordinator of the School of Midwifery, provided vital guidance on Related Learning Experience (RLE), stressing professionalism, preparedness, and the significance of hands-on training in clinical settings.
Through their messages, the speakers equipped the students with knowledge that will serve as a foundation for success in both classroom and clinical environments, setting the tone for a productive and meaningful semester ahead.
