Groundbreaking sa itatayong bagong gusali ng SSS sa Tuguegarao, isinagawa

Opisyal na inilagay ng Social Security System (SSS), sa pangunguna ni Executive Vice President para sa Branch Operations Sector Antonio S. Argabioso, ang time capsule at ginanap ang groundbreaking ceremony para sa magiging SSS Tuguegarao Building ngayong araw, Agosto 7, 2026, sa Regional Government Center sa Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City.

Kapag natapos na, ang pasilidad ang magiging unang gusaling pag-aari ng SSS sa Luzon North 2 Division at magbibigay ng mas madaling puntahan, maginhawa, at mas madaling puntahan na kapaligiran para sa mga miyembro, pensiyonado, employer, at benepisyaryo ng SSS sa Northern Luzon.

"Binibigyang-diin ng proyekto ang patuloy na pangako ng SSS na ilapit ang mga serbisyo ng social security sa mga tao at pahusayin ang paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko sa rehiyon," ayon sa SSS.

➣Severe Winds
The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.
• Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 2.
• Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.
The Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of MAYMAY will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
• Today: Most of Luzon and Visayas, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Misamis Occidental, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
• Tomorrow (06 August) and Friday (07 August): Most of the country.
➣HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS

24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 4.5 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
• Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside.
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 3.5 m: The seaboard of Zambales; the eastern seaboards of Bataan and Lubang Island.
• Up to 3.0 m: The northern seaboard of Batanes; the eastern seaboard of southern Ilocos Norte; the eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental.
• Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 2.5 m: The remaining seaboards of Ilocos Norte; the eastern seaboards of Batanes, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, northern Aurora, and Polillo Islands; the northern seaboards of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur; the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes; the northern and western seaboards of Calamian Islands; the western seaboard of Occidental Mindoro and northern Palawan.
• Up to 2.0 m: The remaining seaboards of Batanes, mainland Cagayan, and Aurora; the seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the northern seaboard of Polillo Islands; the seaboards of Northern Samar; the eastern seaboards of Romblon, Albay, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Siargao-Bucas Grande Islands, and Surigao del Sur; the southern seaboard of Davao Oriental; the southeastern seaboard of Davao Occidental; the western and southern seaboards of Masbate; the southern seaboards of Oriental Mindoro and Southern Leyte; the western seaboard of Caluya Islands; the northern and western seaboards of Surigao del Norte; the seaboards of Kalayaan Islands.
• The southern seaboard of Davao Oriental; the southeastern seaboard of Davao Occidental.
• Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
• MAYMAY will move generally eastward and may make landfall over Ilocos Sur or La Union by this afternoon or evening. Afterwards, it will traverse the landmass of Northern and Central Luzon until tomorrow (06 August).
• MAYMAY is forecast remain as a tropical storm as it approaches the Philippine landmass. After making landfall, MAYMAY will weaken into a tropical depression by tomorrow morning and may be downgraded further into a low pressure area by tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.

2 TULAK NG DROGA, ARESTADO SA BUY-BUST OPERATION SA CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA

Nadakip ang isang lalake na nakalista sa High Value Individuals (HVI) at isang Street Level Individual (SLI) sa isinagawang buy-bust operation ng Ilagan Component City Police Station (CCPS) sa Brgy. Imelda Bliss Village, City of Ilagan, Isabela, madaling araw ng Agosto 2, 2026.
Kinilala ang mga naaresto na sina alyas "Bonie," 33 taong gulang, construction worker at residente nang nasabing lugar na kabilang sa High Value Individuals (HVI); at alyas "Rhea", 31 taong gulang, private employee at residente ng Brgy. Minante 2, Cauayan City, Isabela, na kabilang sa Street Level Individuals (SLI).
Bandang 12:07 ng madaling araw, nagsagawa ng anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation ang mga tauhan ng City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) sa koordinasyon ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 2 (PDEA RO2) na nagresulta pagkakaaresto ng dalawang suspek at pagkakakumpiska ng humigit-kumulang 0.5 gramo ng hinihinalang shabu na may Standard Drug Price (SDP) na PHP3,400.00, 1 gramo ng hinihinalang ma*****na na may SDP na PHP120.00, isang improvised pipe na may residue, buy-bust money, dalawang cellular phones, lighter, personal cash, at isang motorsiklo.
Dinala sa kustodiya ng PNP Ilagan ang dalawang suspek habang inihahanda ant pagsasampa ng mga kasong paglabag sa Sections 5, 11, at 12, Article II ng Republic Act No. 9165 o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Pinuri ni Police Colonel Manuel Bringas, Provincial Director ng Isabela Police Provincial Office, ang matagumpay na operasyon at binigyang-diin ang patuloy na pagtutok ng kapulisan sa pagsugpo sa ilegal na droga.
