📊 Alam mo ba?
• Diabetes is the 5th leading cause of death sa Pilipinas.
• Around 5.5 million Filipino adults ang may diabetes.
• Mahilig tayo sa kanin, pancit, lechon, at softdrinks — pero too much sugar can lead to serious health problems.
• Night-shift workers (lalo na sa BPO) are at higher risk dahil sa disrupted body clock.

📍 If you think you are at risk, magpa check na kayo. Libre ang blood sugar check sa health centers nationwide! 💊 May mga pharmacies or diagnostic clinics din na nag-o-offer ng test sa mura at abot-kayang halaga.

⏰ Reminder: Mas accurate kung fasting ng 8–12 hours bago magpa-check.

âś… Normal fasting blood sugar:
• Below 100 mg/dL = Normal
• 101–125 mg/dL = Prediabetes (warning sign 🚨)
• 126 mg/dL or higher = Diabetes level

👉 Kung hindi normal ang resulta mo, magpa-check up agad sa doktor. Early detection = mas malaking chance na maagapan ang complications!

🩺Wellness Wednesday:
Regular blood pressure checks can prevent silent complications. Don't wait for symptoms - monitor your health early.

When taking BP Measurements at home, please follow this guideline:
1. The patient should avoid caffeine, exercise and smoking for at least 30 minutes before measurement.
2. Use BP device that has been validated for accuracy (validatebp.org).
3. Use the correct cuff size on a bare arm.
4. The patient's arm should be supported at the heart level.
5. Have the patient relax, ssitting in a chair (feet on floor, legs uncrossed and back supported) for more than 5 minutes of rest.
6. Don't let the patient talk during the rest period and during the BP measurement. Do not use a phone also.
7. BP measurement should be taken in a temperature-controlled room.
8. Take 2 or more BP measurements at least 1 minute apart. Average the readings and record the date and time taken.
