Elisabeth Ngewi, holds campus blessing on July 1, 2025, to set the new school year 2025-2026 by fostering a sacred presence for students, faculty, and staff to the Lord through candle and incense lighting, praying of the rosary, and the blessing of the school grounds.

May 12, 2025 signifies a day where Filipinos cast their vote, excerising their rights to suffrage, putting their chosen candidates to a position under the legislative seat. In a Democratic Country where our leaders are in our hands, the soveirinity of our land is within our power to choose those who’ll rule.

Under the branch of the government, legislative stands as the parliament group of a bicameral structure of the senatorial and the house of the representatives seat that work in creating and providing laws that help and protect the rights of every Filipino. In the ruling of our mass, they are held reliable and accountable to provide republic acts that enable and ensure us to speak our own voices, continue to live with our liberty beyond our reach, the power to create laws that would initially be the hope we cling for as our rights as a human.

“Bumoto ng matalino, bumoto nang matalino”. To vote wisely is a key component to help the government of our country to prosper when choosing the right people to govern in a land where change is an event that is etched in our hearts to be feared upon. The desire for change yet the fear of an unknown future due to habitual actions.

We have the power to pick our public servants, the power to name our politicians, and the power to change the course of our future. Let us not be blinded by mere words when action says otherwise. Vote wisely, vote those who are wise enough to handle all the responsibilities to serve the Filipino. Vote with a purpose, vote those who aim not only to lead but also serve us.

As the school year 2024-2025 ends, we find ourselves standing up on highs and lows, looking back at how the year has been both challenging and transformative for us. From the early morning rush to the 'unavoidable' cramming sessions, the year was a total rollercoaster ride. But most importantly, we recognize the commitment, hard work, and sacrifice of every student, teacher, and school personnel who gave it their all once again. It made every corner of the school lively and sound. We learned not only through the syllabus, but even in every mundane moment that happened, we always found ways to understand and to seek knowledge.

This year may be filled with joyous moments for some, but it was not only defined with those. Setbacks, challenges, and mistakes still roamed around like clingy friends. But what's important is that there was optimism in every hardship and growth in every stumble. New friendships too were made while old ones were reminisced. We went through battles both won and lost—together. As the year remains vivid in our memories, we honor the new friendships yet to be formed and bid the old ones a good farewell but never truly a bye for we place them always in our hearts. Ready for the next chapter of our lives. In every laugh and cry we shared, we found solace in each other's company.

This year we leave behind, though setting like the years passed, is unique. Colorful on its own beauty, flamboyant on its own melody. It was a year that allowed us to grow even more and made us realize how far we've been to achieve our dreams. As we turn to a different chapter, may we carry every piece of this year not as a burden that weighs us down, but as stepping stones to reach high for our dreams. However the past year might have impacted us, it should never be the reason for us to hold back. Just like Miss Universe Philippines 2025 Maria Ahtisa Manalo, who faced many setbacks but never gave up and rose stronger each time before eventually earning her crown. Reminding us that the challenges and failures we faced this year when taken the right way, we too can rise to success, we too can be the best version of ourselves for the years to come.

On May 9, 2025, St. Michael's College of Iligan, Incorporated, of the Basic Education Department, held the 9th Commencement Exercise of Senior High School of Academic Year 2024-2025, an event that extends the recognition of the effort of each individual as they will bump into a new beginning. As graduating students brought together to receive the fruit of their success and dedication throughout the years of serving with excellence and building faith.

Vince Louie S. Abad, a student of Humanities and Social Sciences opened the ceremony with sentimental words, acknowledging the shared hardships and support given beyond the walls of the institution, reminiscing the life that happened for the past 2 years: “St. Michael’s College has been more than an institution; it has been a second home.”

He then added: “As we stand on the hand of the future, may we carry with us the values we have learned here—faith that grounds us, excellence that drives us, and service that uplifts others. Let this ceremony remind us that this ending is also a beginning.”

Moreover, in every graduation, comes a moment of memories spoken by a chosen graduate to relieve the life of being a student in the last years of high school.

Andrea Lee K. Lacsi, a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Strand student, extends congratulations to everyone who spends sleepless nights and overcomes every challenge to thrive on their academic success and leaves a note: "Let us move forward not with fear, but with faith. Not hesitation, but with courage."

She added, "To my fellow graduates—may we take this moment not just as an achievement, but as a promise. A promise to ourselves, to those who supported us, and to the world—that we will use what we have learned not just to succeed, but to serve. That we will be leaders not only of skill, but of character."

The commencement exercise emphasizes the hard work of each learner to build a foundation of knowledge and values through education. As students continue to journey into their lives, the diploma will serve as an important reminder for the future to be the inspiration of excellence and perseverance of each individual.

“Ma, pwede ko patabang ani” - a very simple request. Yet this is where it all began. From the four walls on our homes, until the days we slowly grew, she never failed to carry you in her arms - shielding you from the weight of the world, just as she did the very first time she held you.

For years, we laid and relied in their arms, their simple wisdom guiding us toward the right path, no matter the choices we made. Perhaps this is why Anna Marie Jarvis once wrote a humble letter to her mother - she saw the quiet sacrifices, and in her heart, turned daily gratitude into a global celebration every May. But beyond the fancy ribbons and the ceremonies, it is in the whispered “Salamat, nak,” the midnight lullabies, and the quiet, unconditional love that truly shaped who we are.

This 11th day of May, may our “Tabangi ko, Ma!” become “Naa rako dinhi para nimo, Ma.” Our mothers may not be perfect - but still, they give their all, helping us through things they themselves may not fully understand, all without ever asking for anything in return. So this coming Mother’s Day, embrace your mothers - brew their favorite tea, write them a note saying “I love you, Ma,” or simply sit beside them and listen to their stories, once more.

To all mothers who have loved, cared, and sacrificed with a heart so full and selfless - the BEdlisiw publication proudly greets you with a warm, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
