1 Jonhn 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

I have a Father, the Master of time
He holds the world in His hands
He looks from heaven and sees where you are
Arranging your life in His plans
Preparing you now, unfolding the way
To all your tomorrows, and whatever you face

He's already in your tomorrow
He's walking one step ahead
Whether it's joy or it's sorrow
He'll do just what He said
He'll never leave you lonely
In the land of the great unknown
He's already in your tomorrow
Don't be afraid to keep pressing on

Often, you struggle, looking ahead
Dreading tomorrow, it seems
Embracing the present, forgetting the past
Giving up on your dreams
You're stranded between your faith and your fear
Yet no matter the conflict, the future is clear

He's already in your tomorrow
He's walking one step ahead
Whether it's joy or it's sorrow
He'll do just what He said
He'll never leave you lonely
In the land of the great unknown
He's already in your tomorrow
Don't be afraid to keep pressing on

He's already in your tomorrow
He's walking one step ahead
Whether it's joy or it's sorrow
He'll do just what He said
He'll never leave you lonely
In the land of the great unknown
He's already in your tomorrow
Don't be afraid to keep pressing on
He's already in your tomorrow
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Keep pressing on, keep pressing on

1,Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2,He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3,He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4,In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5,He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

How is it possible to “stand fast in the Lord” in such a changing environment? We can stand strong and be consistent because God does not change. Our feelings may change and our friends may change, but God will never change. His truth has never changed.

Malachi 3:6 KJV “… For I am the LORD, I change not …”

Hebrews 13:8 KJV “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

We are not standing in our own determination and strength alone, but rather we stand in the grace and ability that He gives.

1 PETER 4
12,Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13,But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

He Giveth More Grace
Straight from my heart by PHA
August 23, 2023 • 2 Corinthians 12:9–10

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 KJV

“…My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

[10] Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in p***ecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

The story behind the song, “He Giveth More Grace” is about the life of a poet and composer, Annie Johnson Flint, on how she was able to overcome every trial that crossed her path. I want to share with you her life to show how God can use the severest trials in order to come out much stronger and the more be a blessing to others.

Annie Johnson Flint was born on Christmas Eve in 1866 at Vineyard, New Jersey. She suffered the loss of both of her parents at the young age of 6. First, it was her mother who died while giving birth to her younger sister. Right after her mother died, her father, who was afflicted by a chronic serious illness asked his friend to take care of Annie and her sister; but while there they suffered neglect and emotional abuse. Their foster parents did not spend time with them to give more time to their own children. Meanwhile, a teacher noticed the condition of the two girls and she recommended them to be adopted by a childless couple, Mr & Mrs Flint.

Her father, Mr Johnson, because of his progressively worsening illness had no choice but to give up his daughters to provide them the opportunity of a brighter future. He finally willed his daughters to the Flint couple, especially after knowing that they also belong to the Baptist faith.

Their new stepparents loved and raised them well. They were taught Christian values and frugality that Annie learned to sew her clothes and did other domestic responsibilities. The Flint’s house has a big library where she spends a lot of hours reading different books. This started her interest in writing poetry. She received Christ when she turned 8 years old. Although it took her another 10 years to get baptized, she never questioned her salvation.

Annie grew up hopeful and optimistic. Despite all her losses, her love for the Lord made her manifest the joy of the Lord. It served as her strength. After high school, she joined a teacher’s training program and later taught at the school where she also attended. Unfortunately, in her second year of teaching, she was diagnosed with a severe form of arthritis, which progressively got worse and affected her job and her movements. This illness made her quit teaching. Soon after, both her stepparents passed away almost in the same year. They became orphans the second time around.

With a lack of financial resources, the death of her stepparents, and her worsening medical condition left her even more resilient and strong. Maybe, she had to since her sister was with her to care for. She started to use her creative writing skills by producing and decorating greeting cards, using the verses from her original poems. She later produced gift books also containing her original verses. She eventually became known because of the many positive reviews she received. Two “Card publishing companies” took notice of her creations and published her cards with her writings. It was a big success.

Many were blessed and comforted by the messages in her greeting cards and poetry. Through her creations, several beautiful songs came out as well, such as: “God has not promised the skies always blue,” and many more. Because of public demand, she published a book of poems, titled, “By the way - Travelogues of Cheer.”

Included in this book was her most famous poem; the song, “He Giveth More Grace,” which expresses what Apostle Paul shares in 2 Corinthians 12:9 - “My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Conclusion:
Annie Johnson Flint continued to produce heart-warming, beautiful, and inspiring verses, created and written by her twisted, hurting fingers, ravaged by her debilitating arthritis. She was not bothered by the pain and discomfort; for she was strengthened by the joy her creations were giving to so many people who were reading and singing them.

Through the grace of God in her life, she used her trials and physical affliction to inspire, comfort and strengthen others. She finally went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 1932, at Clifton Springs, New York.

The following are the words of this beautiful song. May you be strengthened by the thought and the blessedness of the wonderful grace of God! His grace is all we need!

He Giveth More Grace
by Annie Johnson Flint

1. He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials He multiplies peace.

2. When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

3. Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

Chorus:
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 KJV “…My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. [10] Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in p***e...

DEDICATE YOUR LIVES TO GOD

ROMANS 12
1,I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2,And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3,For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4,For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5,So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6,Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7,Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8,Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9,Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10,Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11,Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12,Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13,Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14,Bless them which p***ecute you: bless, and curse not.
15,Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16,Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17,Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18,If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19,Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20,Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21,Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Psalm 33:18-22 KJV
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; [19] To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
[20] Our soul waiteth for the Lord : he is our help and our shield.
[21] For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
[22] Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
