The Best Relationship Starts When Two People Are Both Pursuing God
(PYC Topic: Made to Love)
A strong relationship is not built merely on attraction, chemistry, or shared interests. The strongest relationships begin when two people are individually committed to seeking God and growing in their faith.
When both hearts are surrendered to Christ, love becomes more than an emotion—it becomes a reflection of God's character.
"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." — Matthew 6:33
A Christ-centered relationship is marked by two people who:
• Pursue a personal relationship with God
• Encourage one another in faith and obedience
• Pray together and for each other
• Share biblical values and convictions
• Help each other grow spiritually
• Choose purity, integrity, and self-control
• Place God's will above personal desires
The foundation of a healthy relationship is not finding the perfect person, but becoming the person God calls us to be.
"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." — Psalm 127:1
When two people are both pursuing God, they naturally grow closer to one another as they grow closer to Him. Their relationship is guided by purpose, strengthened by faith, and anchored in God's love.
Ellen G. White emphasized that true happiness in relationships comes when God is placed at the center. She taught that a successful union is founded on mutual faith, respect, selflessness, and a shared commitment to serving God.
Instead of asking, "How can I find the right person?" perhaps we should first ask, "Am I becoming the person God wants me to be?" When two people seek God above all else, He leads them into a relationship filled with peace, purpose, and lasting joy.
