People who knowingly spread false information during elections often do so as a strategic attempt to manipulate public opinion and sway voters away from the opposing side.
This type of behaviors happen because they want to protect their beliefs, even if it means twisting the truth (which is sad). When they see their side losing, they feel uncomfortable and powerless instead, they make up stories or share fake news to feel like theyβre still in control or fighting for the "right side." They often use emotional words or shocking claims to get peopleβs attention and stop them from thinking critically. For them, spreading false info becomes a way to influence others, hoping it might still change the result of the election.
