Exemplifying determination, Laiza Geneveve D. Camagan and Fritz Bryele M. Souribio ended their Senior High School (SHS) journey with a speech as With Highest Honors awardees of Iloilo Doctorsโ College - Basic Education Department (IDC-BED) during the 9th Commencement Exercise of the institution held at the IDC Gymnasium, March 27.
During her tribute message, Laiza shared her sincere appreciation to IDC-BED for the opportunities given to all the students throughout the school year.
"IDC, thank you for opening your gates to us, for allowing us to try to repeat the force that you have built through the years,โ expressed Laiza in her speech.

Reflecting on past experiences, Clinical Instructor John Rey D. Salazar, RMT narrated his previous encounters as a previous With Highest Honors graduate of IDC-BED batch 2019-2020.
โLife taught me a lesson that moment, recognition may come in different parts but hard work is never meaningless,โ he said.
Salazar also shared his academic experiences throughout college, mentioning that despite having financial limitations, he still managed to finish college and graduate as Magna Cum Laude in early 2025.
โThere were sleepless nights, endless examinations, exhausting laboratory duties, and days when I was mentally and emotionally drained, but every time I felt like giving up, I remind myself why I started,โ he added.

Under the theme โFilipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character,โ Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sony Angara highlighted key reforms that the BED is pursuing to better serve Filipino learners.
In an effort to help learners recover essential learning skills, Angara outlined priorities including strengthening BED, refining the Revised Grade 10 Curriculum, and expanding SHS pathways.
โUnder the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., we remain committed to building an education system that prepares Filipino learners for the future,โ Angara affirmed.

Like a โSaranggolaโ ready to lift off, the Grade 12 graduates of IDC-BEDโlike Fritz Bryle Souribio who was awarded With Highest Honorsโfound meaning in the song โSaranggolaโ by Ben&Ben as their graduation piece, as it reflects the shared journey they embarked throughout their academic year.
"โSaranggola,โ one word that symbolizes our journey. Each one of them is unique in their own ways, just like us. We fly and grow in different colors and backgrounds until we reach the last gatewayโour graduation day," attributed Fritz in his speech.
For the IDC-BED Batch of 2025-2026, the graduation song and dance served as a final tribute before they proceeded with their recessional.
