OSG Tinutulan ang Hair Follicle Test kay PBBM

Hiniling ng Office of the Solicitor General sa Korte Suprema na ibasura ang petisyong naglalayong obligahin si Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na sumailalim sa physical examination at hair follicle drug test.

Ayon sa OSG, ang naturang petisyon ay malinaw na paglabag sa prinsipyo ng presidential immunity from suit, na naglalayong protektahan ang Pangulo laban sa mga kasong maaaring makaabala o makasagabal sa kanyang pagtupad ng tungkulin bilang pinuno ng bansa.

Binigyang-diin din ng OSG na walang sapat na ebidensya upang patunayang may “serious illness” ang Pangulo na maaaring magbigay-daan sa paggamit ng kaukulang probisyon ng Konstitusyon. Dagdag pa rito, sinabi nitong ang anumang medical records ay kabilang sa sensitive personal information na saklaw ng karapatan sa privacy at protektado ng batas.

Tinukoy rin ng OSG na ang petisyon ay isa lamang umanong “fishing expedition” at walang sapat na legal standing ang mga petitioner upang maghain ng naturang kahilingan.

Minor Phreatic Eruption Recorded at Taal Volcano

A very weak phreatic eruption was observed at Taal Volcano on the evening of April 21, 2026, according to the PHIVOLCS.

Time-lapse footage captured between 7:10 PM and 7:11 PM showed activity at the volcano’s Main Crater, producing a plume that reached approximately 100 meters in height. The event was recorded using thermal cameras from the Daang Kastila Observation Station (VTDK) and the Main Crater Observation Station (VTMC).

Authorities reported that the eruption was minor and classified as a phreatic event, which involves steam-driven explosions caused by the heating of groundwater. Despite the activity, Alert Level 1 remains in effect over Taal Volcano, indicating low-level unrest.

PHIVOLCS continues to monitor the situation closely and advises the public to stay informed and adhere to safety guidelines around the volcano.
