On September 8, 2024, experience the mesmerizing showcase that breathes life into Filipino urban legends with the power of dance. TUYAW, meaning "Cursed" in Hiligaynon, creatively delves into these myths, drawing parallels between the Spirit and Human worlds.

This compelling performance delves into the captivating stories of "Tamawo" and "Muwa." Urban legends depict the "Tamawo" as luring humans into their realm with promises of wealth, leading to their abduction and disappearance. As for the "Muwa," a shape-shifting creature, it is said to deceive farmers and steal their produce if not appeased adequately during the harvest season.

However, these mythical beings are not just fanciful tales but reflections of human nature. The Tamawo represents seduction and temptation, while the Muwa symbolizes pretension and deception, which can disrupt human relationships and harmony. But there is hope in the form of the Baylan/Babaylan, whose powerful rituals offer the promise of redemption, forgiveness, and the restoration of peace and harmony.
