September 13 was a Sunday with a slightly overcast sky and humid air, common weather for the season. But this Sunday was anything but ordinary. Amid the busy cityscape, tucked along the corners of Cabangbang Street, near the Central Philippine University (CPU), gathered people from different walks of life but with a common pursuitโthat is, the celebration of overcoming the final day of the Bar Examinations, dubbed the of 2026.
Overcoming the Bar Exams is no small feat. It is a week-long ordeal culminating in three pressure-filled exam days for the examinees. And as they exit the examination venue, they emerge as resplendent and precious gemsโdazzling with pride, hardened by the pressure, and multifaceted as ever. And with each facet, come different stories.
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ
Like clockwork, the gears of the bar operations from each law school are put into motion each Bar Exams year. The University of San Agustin College of Lawโs (USA-COL) Bar Operations organization (BarOps) spearheaded the operations from day zero until the final day of the exams. Together with the Sigma Alpha Lex, the student council of USA-COL, The Law Publications, The Parliament, The Portia Club, and the Bar Review Organization, the council of orgs ensured the efficient and successful facilitation of the needs of the examinees.
The officers and volunteers of the BarOps are the silent support squad, ensuring that each meal for the exam takers is accounted for, that each bar kit is complete, ready, and resupplied, and that the ๐ด๐ข๐ญ๐ถ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐จ is as merry as can be.
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ
Beginning on day oneโSeptember 6; day twoโSeptember 9; and the last day, the USA-COL faculty and staff, led by Dean Atty. Rommel Bellones, LLM, had shown earnest support by showing up early in the morning and greeting the examinees back as they finished the exams for each day. Their last-minute tips and lectures further armed them with the legal knowledge to overcome the gargantuan challenge of the Bar.
The cheers carry with them the echoes of support from past and future law students. An unending and unyielding war-cry of solidarity. They know that when itโs their turn to heed the call of the Bar, they too would be hailed. And thus for now, they scream their lungs out in unison.
The families, alumni Agustinian lawyers, and the whole of the village rallied for the ๐ด๐ข๐ญ๐ถ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐จ, a celebration of conquering one of, if not the, hardest examinations in the country.
Every bouquet of flowers, every tight hug, every thunderous applause, cheer, and gentle pat on the back, and every wide, welcoming smile, all proved the unending support and love of the whole community.

The heroes of the Bar Exams, the examinees.
Four years, if not more, of law school.
The sleepless nights, buckets of tears and perspiration.
The pressure, the self-doubt, and the fear.
A pursuit of a vocation or of a lifelong dream.
The road led you to the Bar Exams, the final hurdle before entering the legal profession.
Of the ๐๐,๐๐๐ Bar candidates, ๐๐,๐๐๐ made it to the finish line. That in itself is a feat. You made it!
From the taxing Political and Public International Law and Commercial Law and Taxation of day one, to the gruelling Civil Law and Land Titles and Deeds and Labor Law and Social Legislation of day two, and finally, the exhausting Criminal Law and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics, with Practical Exercises of day three, you, our Agustinian Bar takers, have shown great mettle in conquering the 2026 Bar Exams.

There is a bittersweet feeling of reprieve, not of surrender, in knowing that youโve done your part. Youโve given your yeses and noes, laid down all your legal bases, applied the law, and concluded the endings. All thatโs left is the verdict come January 2027.
