What does Ilonggo-forward cuisine taste like?

At Tipon-Tipon by Mestizo Mestizo, familiar flavors from Iloilo were reimagined in fresh, unexpected ways—from diwal and San Joaquin tuna to pancit molo, KBL, tablea, and Leon coffee.

A taste of Iloilo that feels familiar, but still moves forward.

Locality. Culture. Connection.

See you at the next Tipon-Tipon. ✨

The Philippine economy is still growing, pero bumagal ang growth to 2.3%

At kasabay nito, unemployment climbed to 6%—or more than 3 million Filipinos looking for work.

So isipin mo yung combination:

Mahal ang bilihin.

Bumagal ang ekonomiya.

Mas maraming naghahanap ng trabaho.

And this is where we need to talk about STAGFLATION

Ano ba ’yon?

At habang tumataas ang presyo, workers are also asking for higher wages.

Sa Western Visayas, nasa ₱520 to ₱550 ang current daily minimum wage.

May proposal ngayon for another ₱250 increase.

Imagine you're running a small café, carinderia, bakery or restaurant.

or

“Ibaba lang ang presyo.”

Workers need better income.

But businesses also need enough room to survive, grow, and hire.

At may isa pang threat.

🚨El NIÑO

PAGASA warns that the current El Niño could become Very Strong

Kapag lumala ang drought at tinamaan ang agriculture—less supply can mean another round of pressure sa presyo ng pagkain.

So ngayon, hindi lang ito tungkol sa:

“Bakit ang mahal na ng bilihin?”

Mas malaking economic problem na siya.

Paano bababa ang presyo without killing growth?

And if El Niño hits food production harder—handa ba tayo sa panibagong taas-presyo?

Because right now, parehong naiipit.

Workers are earning but buying less.

Businesses are selling but spending more.

And millions are still looking for work.
