Where Can We Find True Joy?
We are all searching for happiness, but sometimes true happiness can be hard to find. Worldly happiness cannot fill our hearts with joy the way the Savior can.
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf recently shared:
“God has something more to give. A higher and more profound joy—a joy that transcends anything this world offers. It is a joy that endures heartbreak, penetrates sorrow, and diminishes loneliness.”1
Elder Uchtdorf suggests three beginning steps on our journey of discovering pure joy.
Draw Near unto God
We can find healing, peace, and joy by drawing near to God and reaching out to Him despite our doubts or challenges.
Look for It
If we seek joy and reasons to follow the Savior, we will find them. We often discover what we actively search for.
Bear One Another’s Burdens
Jesus taught that “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). In our pursuit of joy, bringing joy to others can be the most effective way to find it.
