Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake
All the gooey, spiced sweetness of a cinnamon roll—baked into a rich, creamy poke cake that’s perfect for breakfast or dessert!
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
* 1 box white cake mix
* Ingredients needed for the cake mix (usually water, oil, and eggs as directed on the box)
* 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
For the Frosting:
* 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
* 1/4 cup butter, softened
* 2 cups powdered sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare the cake batter according to the box directions.
2. Stir in ground cinnamon and brown sugar, then pour batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
3. Bake according to the box instructions (usually 25–30 minutes) or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
4. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
5. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
6. In a bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth.
7. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy.
8. Spread frosting over the warm cake, letting it sink into the holes slightly.
9. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
