The Armyโs 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) has welcomed the resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Iloilo expressing full support for the national governmentโs efforts to defend the countryโs rightful claims over the West Philippine Sea.
3ID Commander Major General Michael G. Samson lauded the Iloilo Provincial Boardโs move as a strong manifestation of unity between local leaders and the Armed Forces in safeguarding national interests.
He emphasized that the resolution reflects the people of Iloiloโs commitment to stand behind the government in asserting the countryโs territorial integrity.
โThe support of our local leaders strengthens our resolve to fulfill our mandate of protecting the nation and its people. This resolution is a clear message that the defense of the West Philippine Sea is not only a military concern but a collective responsibility,โ MGen. Samson said.
Iloilo SP Resolution No. 2025-656, sponsored by Honorable June Mondejar and co-sponsored by all SP members, underscores the civic duty of the Iloilo Provincial Government. Guided by principles of patriotism and nationalism, the resolution affirms support for the national governmentโs efforts to enforce its long-overdue rights over the West Philippine Sea.
The 3ID Commander further assured the public that the Division will continue to work closely with local government units, civic organizations, and communities in Western and Central Visayas, as well as the Negros Island Region, to promote peace, security, and national unity.
