“DANAS” IS SLOWLY TURNING EAST NORTHEASTWARD OVER THE SEA WEST OF EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON
Location of Center (10:00 AM): The center of Tropical Storm DANAS was estimated based on all available data at 460 km West of Basco, Batanes (20.1°N, 117.6°E).
Intensity: Maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 994 hPa.
Present Movement: East northeastward slowly
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds: Strong winds extend outwards up to 330 km from the center
GENERAL OUTLOOK FOR THE FORECAST PERIOD
24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 3.0 m: The seaboard of Batanes and the western seaboards of Ilocos Norte and Babuyan Islands.
• Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 2.5 m: The northwestern seaboard of Ilocos Sur and the remaining seaboards of Ilocos Norte.
• Up to 2.0 m: The western seaboards of La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales, and the remaining seaboard of Ilocos Sur.
• Mariners of motorbancas and similarly-sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Track and Intensity Outlook
• Tropical Storm DANAS (formerly “BISING”) is forecast to move northward slowly for the next 12 hours before turning north northeastward over the sea west of Extreme Northern Luzon. A short period of re-entry over the northwestern boundary of PAR is possible by Monday.
• DANAS is forecast to intensify into a Severe Tropical Storm within the next 24 hours and is expected to maintain its strength while passing over Taiwan Strait. It is expected to weaken on Tuesday as it interacts with the landmass of Eastern China.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to continue monitoring for updates related to this tropical cyclone.
Unless there is an intermediate issuance, the next tropical cyclone advisory will be issued at 11:00 PM today.

Thunderstorm Advisory No. 11

Moderate to Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over (RoxasCity, Ivisan, Sigma, Cuartero), (Lemery, Sara, Batad, Balasan) and (PuertoPrincesaCity) within the next 1 to 2 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Pontevedra, PresidentRoxas, Pilar, Panay, MaAyon, Dao, Panitan) and (Narra) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.
