LOOK! Building Skills, Creating Opportunities through Partnership
The Iloilo Riverplains SLP Association (IRPSA) of Brgy. Camalig, Jaro, Iloilo City, organized under the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), recently participated in a Basic Catering Services Training conducted in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The training was attended by 25 IRPSA members, who gained hands-on knowledge on basic event setup, including napkin folding and table skirting - essential skills in providing quality catering and food service.
The association plans to venture into an Eatery and Catering Services enterprise with assistance through the SLP Seed Capital Fund (SCF). The initiative is further strengthened through the partnership with the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) and the Iloilo City Local Housing Office (ICLHO) under the Program Convergence Budgeting (PCB).
Through skills development, convergence, and strategic partnerships, SLP continues to empower communities with the knowledge and resources needed to build viable and sustainable livelihood enterprise./Haidee B. Manato
