SSS Announces Pension Increase Plan for 3.8 Million Members
The Social Security System (SSS) announced on Thursday, July 31, 2025, a three-year staggered pension increase for all SSS pensioners.
In a statement, the SSS said the pension hike will be implemented in three annual tranches every September, starting this year.
Retirement and disability pensioners as of August 31, 2025, will receive a 10% increase starting September, while death or survivor pensioners will get a 5% increase.
The same rate of increase will be granted to qualified pensioners as of August 31, 2026, and August 31, 2027, respectively, to take effect in September of each year.
“By the end of the three-year program, retirement and disability pensions will have increased by approximately 33%, while death or survivor pensions will have risen by around 16%,” the SSS said.
The SSS clarified that the reform program will not require any increase in member contributions and is expected to benefit 3.8 million pensioners, including 2.6 million retirement and disability pensioners and 1.2 million survivor pensioners.
