Ani Acting Chief PNP, Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.:

PNP: MAXIMUM TOLERANCE AT ITS BEST!

ILOILO – PRO6 anti-drug operatives seized more or less 730 grams of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at around 4:00 PM on September 21, 2025, in NHA Village, Brgy. Bakhawan Sur, Concepcion, Iloilo.

The operation led to the arrest of three individuals identified as:

• Alias “Budoy”, 43 years old, single, jobless, resident of Brgy. Bolaqueña, Estancia, Iloilo, and a Provincial Drug Watchlisted High-Value Individual (HVI). He was also previously arrested in 2022 for the same drug offense;
• Alias “Kaycee”, 25 years old, single, jobless, resident of Brgy. Salvacion, Concepcion, Iloilo, and a newly identified street-level individual (SLI); and
• Alias “Nico”, 16 years old, nephew of alias “Kaycee”, and also a resident of Brgy. Salvacion, Concepcion, Iloilo.

The successful operation was the culmination of a year-long intelligence monitoring and surveillance effort against the suspect, carried out through the combined efforts of the Iloilo Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Concepcion Municipal Police Station, 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Estancia MPS.

Confiscated items included one (1) heat-sealed sachet and six (6) knot-tied packs of suspected shabu, two (2) motorcycles, and other non-drug items.

The arrested suspects are now under the custody of Concepcion MPS for medical examination, booking procedures, and filing of appropriate cases under RA 9165.

Alias “Budoy” and alias “Kaycee” will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and 26 (Conspiracy) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). These offenses carry a penalty of life imprisonment to death and a fine ranging from PHP500,000 to PHP10,000,000.

Meanwhile, alias “Nico,” being a minor, will be referred to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for proper disposition under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (RA 9344).

Police Regional Office 6 Regional Director PBGEN JOSEFINO D LIGAN commended the successful operation:

“This successful operation is proof that our persistent surveillance and coordinated actions are effective in dismantling drug networks in Western Visayas. The main suspect has long been under our close watch, and his arrest shows that no one can evade the law forever. PRO6 remains firm and unyielding in our campaign against illegal drugs, and we will continue to protect our communities from those who attempt to destroy lives through this illicit trade,” PBGEN LIGAN said.
