Amid applause, proud smiles, and moments of recognition, the College of Business and Management honored the dedication and excellence of its students during the CBM Honors and Awards 2026, transforming an afternoon celebration into a tribute to hard work, innovation, and future leadership.

As students walked across the stage, they carried with them not only academic distinctions but also the sacrifices, lessons, and victories that defined their paths.

As the curtains closed on another memorable Honors and Awards ceremony, students left not only with awards in hand but also with renewed inspiration for the journeys that lie ahead.

For the College of Business and Management, the event stood as a testament that excellence is not a destinationโ€”it is a continuous pursuit fueled by passion, innovation, and purpose.

Indeed, the Honors and Awards 2026 was not simply a recognition of what students have achieved, but a celebration of what they are destined to become.

๐”๐๐ƒ๐€๐“๐„ | Beyond Grades and Awards: Gallego Reminds Students to Value Every Step Forward

As the College of Business and Management recognized its Most Outstanding Student for Academic Year 2025โ€“2026, Clarisse Emille M. Gallego, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management, delivered a response on behalf of the CBM students during the CBM Honors and Awards 2026 held at the WVSU Cultural Center, June 1.

"What Iโ€™m trying to say is that not every reward has to come after a perfect grade or a major achievement. Sometimes, simply making it through the week is already enough. Showing up despite exhaustion and self-doubt is already something to be proud of," Gallego said.

Speaking before fellow students, faculty members, and awardees, Gallego underscored the value of perseverance and self-recognition amid the demands of academic life.

She emphasized that success should not be defined solely by honors and accolades but also by the determination to continue despite challenges and setbacks.

She further shared how rewarding herself for small accomplishments helped her stay motivated throughout her academic journey.

"Not everything in life has to be earned before it is enjoyed. In my case, those small rewards became one of the ways I stayed motivated through the demands of university life. And thatโ€™s how I girlmathed my way through the past four years and made it to this stage today," she added.

Gallego encouraged students to celebrate their personal milestones and practice self-compassion alongside their pursuit of excellence.

She reminded the CBM community that growth is not only measured by achievements but also by the ability to maintain balance, recognize one's efforts, and continue moving forward despite difficulties.

Her remarks served as a message of encouragement and reflection, inspiring students to embrace their individual journeys while striving for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. | via Sheldon Balinas
