โ€‹The 2026 International Research Forum opened its morning session today with a powerful convergence of global expertise, focusing on the future of the ASEAN economy, research innovation, and the rapid rise of technological integration. Hosted via Zoom by the West Visayas State University College of Business and Management (CBM), the event gathered students and faculty to witness high-level plenary discussions from international academic leaders.

โ€‹Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Raziff Bin Jamaluddin of Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia set the tone by emphasizing research as a strategic pillar for ASEAN connectivity. He underscored that for the region to remain competitive, academic inquiries must move beyond the classroom to foster stronger economic ties and cross-border collaborations.

โ€‹The session shifted toward the digital frontier with Dr. Don Anton R. Balida from the International College of Engineering and Management in Oman. Dr. Balida provided a comprehensive look at the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business management. He challenged the participants to view AI not just as a tool, but as a critical component of modern research methodologies that can optimize data analysis and decision-making in an increasingly complex market.

โ€‹Transitioning from theory to practice, the forum moved into simultaneous breakout sessions and cluster presentations. Undergraduate researchers took center stage, defending their findings in various virtual rooms. This served as the culminating step in their research journeys, allowing them to apply the insights shared by the keynote speakers to their own academic endeavors.

โ€‹The morning concluded with a dynamic exchange between the CBM community and the guest speakers, successfully bridging the gap between regional economic trends and the evolution of smart technologies. The event continues to empower WVSU students to lead with innovation and integrity in a data-driven world. | via Jonh Venedict Mondia
