Echoing the solemnities throughout the Month of June, we are called to recognize the Eucharist as a Sign of Unity and Bond of Charity that flows from the Pierced Heart of Jesus! Let us get to know how the parish tries to get engage with the universal call to synodality through the various ministries, celebrations and reflections we had for the 1st half of June - the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Pope Leo XIV releases this video to accompany his prayer intention for the month of June, which is "that the world might grow in compassion."

"Let us pray that each one of us might find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus, and from his Heart, learn to have compassion on the world," said the Pope.

LOOK: As we prepare for the forthcoming National and Local Midterm Elections this coming Monday, May 12. 2025, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines and the Archdiocesan Commission on Liturgy releases these prayers to be said after the Post-Communion Prayer in all masses throughout the Archdiocese of Jaro this coming Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Let us join the whole Universal Church in praying for our cardinal-electors in choosing the next Supreme Pontiff, the Successor of Saint Peter, as they enter into Conclave today.

We ask for the grace of the Holy Spirit and we pray that the new shepherd of the Church will lead God’s people with apostolic zeal, wisdom, and devotion.

As instructed by the CBCP and Archdiocesan Commission on Liturgy, all parishes may celebrate the Holy Mass “for the Election of a New Pope” or conduct Eucharistic adorations and communal prayer for the intention of the Conclave.

LOOK: As we anticipate the forthcoming Conclave of the College of Cardinals in selecting a new Successor of Saint Peter, the Jaro Archdiocesan Commission on Liturgy, along with the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Liturgy, releases these guidelines and prayers in offering Holy Masses for the Election of a Pope in all parishes beginning May 7, 2025, and in celebrating the day of the election of the New Pope with a Holy Mass on whichever date it will occur.

READ: As Holy Mother Church mourns for the passing of the Holy Father Pope Francis, Archbishop Midyphil Billones will offer a Mass of Suffrage for his eternal repose on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 4:00 in the afternoon at Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral, coinciding the late pontiff’s Funeral Mass at Saint Peter’s Basilica.

Priests, religious and lay faithful from Iloilo city are requested to join His Grace in the said Eucharistic Celebration, while parishes outside Iloilo City are exhorted to offer Mass in synchrony with the 4:00PM Mass at the Cathedral and at Vatican City.

“In this period of mourning, let us unite in faith and love as we commend our beloved Pope Francis to the mercy of the Risen Lord.”
