The SLP of Iloilo Province conducted a Monitoring, Assessment, and Technical Assistance (M.A.T.A) activity with various associations in Pavia, Iloilo.

These included the Arangka Pavia Association, which manages a rice retailing and feed supplies project; the SLP Pavia Laundry Hub; and the Jibao-an Traders SLP Association. The activity aimed to assess project implementation and provide technical support to strengthen the sustainability of their respective livelihood enterprises.

Project Launching in Balasan, Iloilo

The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of Balasan, Iloilo, succesfully launched the Refreshment and Restaurant Project of the Balanti-an SLP Association at Brgy. Balanti-an, Balasan, Iloilo.

The association, composed of 20 active Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, received Php 300,000 in seed capital funds. Strategically located near Balanti-an National High School and the Balasan Economic Zone, the project aims to provide sustainable income opportunities for the members while catering to the growing demand for accessible food services in the area.

The launching event was attended by SLP Provincial Coordinator Anthony C. Laruan, Social Marketing Officer Sheila Linacero Roma, Hon. Rafael Obligar (SB Member, Balasan), Hon. Philip Deanon Sr. (Barangay Kagawad), along with Monitoring PDO Imee M. Belloga. / Renante Lebuna.

The SLP Pototan Federation, composed of the Macalugod SLP Association, Pundacan SLP Association, Panalay SLP Association, Tagiya SLP Association, Sanjatuguica SLP Association, and Pasinbatudoc SLP Association, successfully implemented the Community Variety Store Project.

Each Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) is composed of 15 members. Each member received a profit share of php580.00, distributed into php250.00 worth of groceries and php330.00 in cash.

In addition, members of the Macalugod SLP Association received an extra profit share of php714.00 each, while members of the Pundacan SLP Association received php1,740.00 each. These additional earnings represent their net income as sub-retailers under the Walang Gutom Program Redemption .

SLP Iloilo Province Conducts Semestral Meeting

The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Iloilo Province successfully held its semestral meeting at Damires Hills Tierra Verde Leisure Farm on June 26–27, 2025.

The activity served as a venue to present monthly updates, reiterate important submission reminders, and address issues and concerns to ensure that all PDOs are aligned and working toward the same goals.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of the dedication and hard work of the field Project Development Officers (PDOs), based on their compliance and timely submission of required reports and deliverables.

37 LGBTQ+ individuals in Iloilo receive DSWD-SLP seed capital fund

In celebration of Pride Month, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), releases a total of Php 555,000 in Seed Capital Fund (SCF) to support the livelihood initiatives of 37 LGBTQ+ program participants in Pavia, Iloilo.

Each participant receives Php 15,000 to help start or enhance their chosen micro-enterprises, which include salons, hair and make-up tools, ornamental plant businesses, sari-sari stores, food vending, and other small-scale enterprises.

Prior to receiving the seed capital, all participants undergo capacity-building activities, including the SLP Orientation, Micro-Enterprise Development Training (MEDT), and Financial Literacy sessions, to ensure the sustainability and success of their proposed livelihood projects.

The activity is attended by Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Alejo S. Vulontate, Capacity Building Officer Rose S. Semillano, Provincial Partnership Officer Suzette B. DSWD-SLP receives recognition from WVSU-Janiuay campus for strong partnership

The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-SLP) received recognition from West Visayas State University – Janiuay Campus during its 28th Recognition Program held at the WVSU-JC Gymnasium.

The award highlights the strong partnership between WVSU-Janiuay Campus and DSWD-SLP in empowering and uplifting the socio-economic of SLP Associations (SLPAs) participants through collaborative efforts.

The recognition was received by SLP Regional Program Coordinator Juliet D. Besa and Iloilo Provincial Coordinator Anthony C. Laruan, on behalf of the program.

This commendation reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to sustainable development and community empowerment. /Sheila L. Roma
