With its commitment to support food security and water sufficiency, DSWD FO VI, through its Early Recovery and Rehabilitation Unit, conducted a coordination and planning meeting in the cities of La Carlota and Bago. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 (𝗖𝗙𝗧𝗪) 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 Project LAWA at BINHI 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗜𝗗𝗣𝘀) 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Present during the meeting were representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development Offices (CSWDOs), Environment and Natural Resources Offices (ENROs), Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs), and City Agriculture Offices (CAOs).

This activity is being undertaken in close coordination with DSWD Negros Island Region, and centers on drafting project proposals, preparing documentary requirements, and conducting preliminary identification of project sites.

The DSWD Field Office VI, through its Early Recovery and Rehabilitation Unit, conducted a coordination meeting with the MSWDO, barangay officials, MENRO, MAO and LDRRMO of LGU La Castellana to discuss the implementation of Project LAWA at BINHI through the Cash for Training and Work program for families affected by the Kanlaon Volcano eruption.

The team also coordinated with Ms. Jona, SWO IV of CSWDO LGU Bago City, to arrange an orientation with their CAO, CENRO and CDRRM in their area as part of the initiative.

This effort is carried out in collaboration with DSWD Negros Island Region and DSWD Western Visayas

The Early Recovery and Rehabilitation Unit of DSWD FO VI visited evacuation centers in Brgy. Lanit, Buntatala, and Taytay Zone II, Iloilo City to monitor the situation of affected families.

Barangay officials also received technical guidance on how to properly report the number of affected populations, both inside and outside the camps.

The team continues to support LGUs in ensuring that accurate and timely data reach the DSWD Operations Centers through their CSWDOs.

A total of 500 families from various barangays in Ibajay participated in the CCCM and IDPP Crash Course Training organized by the MSWDO, with support from the DSWD Field Office VI – Early Recovery and Rehabilitation Unit.

At the end of the training, each participant received two Family Food Packs, with a total of 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 to support their disaster-related advocacy and activities.

The DSWD Field Office VI, through its Disaster Response and Rehabilitation Section, continues to support communities by implementing the Food-for-Work Program in Carles, Iloilo.

A total of 994 Family Food Packs were distributed to 497 partner beneficiaries who worked to establish, enhance, and rehabilitate communal gardens in various barangays. These gardens aim to provide a steady source of fresh produce and strengthen local food security.

As part of this effort, the Early Recovery and Rehabilitation Unit 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝟭,𝟯𝟮𝟵 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝟭,𝟯𝟮𝟵 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀.

The DSWD Field Office VI, through its Early Recovery and Rehabilitation Unit, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟴𝟮𝟱 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝟰𝟭𝟮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 in 24 barangays of Concepcion, Iloilo under the Food-for-Work Program.

Through this initiative, beneficiaries established and enhanced communal gardens at Day Care Centers. These gardens will soon help sustain feeding programs for children in their communities.
