 World Hearing Day 2026
“FROM COMMUNITIES TO CLASSROOMS:
Hearing care for every child”

Imelda National High School
as one of the SNED Implementing School reaffirms its unity in promoting awareness, prevention, and inclusion for learners with hearing challenges.
Togetherness reflects our commitment to equity, dignity, and accessible education where every voice matters and every learner is heard.

Our advocacy upholds key legal foundations:
Republic Act No. 7277 – Ensures equal educational opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Republic Act No. 10533 – Promotes inclusive, learner-centered education.
Republic Act No. 11106 – Institutionalizes Filipino Sign Language (FSL) in schools.
Republic Act No. 11650 – Strengthens support services for learners with disabilities.
United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) – Affirms inclusive education as a fundamental human right.

Inclusion is not optional, it is both a mandate and a moral responsibility.

 To Our Collective Action

We commit to early identification and intervention, hearing health awareness, promotion of FSL, provision of reasonable accommodations, and fostering empathy and peer support within our school community.

When we listen together, we learn together.
When we understand together, we grow together.
When we include everyone, we succeed together.

IINHS stands in solidarity with individuals with hearing differences, building a community where diversity is embraced and every learner’s potential is amplified.

In celebration of the National Intellectual Disability Week Celebration with the theme
"Ginintuang Ani ng Pag-ibig Tungo sa Matagumpay at Tunay na Inklusyon,"

💛 NATIONAL INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY WEEK | FEBRUARY 14–20, 2026 💛

From February 14 to 20, we observe National Intellectual Disability Week, a time to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and support the well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Cotabato Sanitarium and General Hospital joins the observance by advocating for education, early intervention, and community support.

Intellectual disabilities are developmental conditions that affect learning, reasoning, and daily functioning. While not all intellectual disabilities can be prevented, certain steps before and during pregnancy, as well as early childhood interventions, can reduce risk factors and support healthy development.

Prevention and Support Tips:
🩺 Seek regular prenatal care and follow medical guidance
💊 Take recommended prenatal vitamins, including folic acid
🚭 Avoid alcohol, to***co, and harmful substances during pregnancy
📋 Consider genetic counseling if there is a family history or risk factors
🧸 Promote early developmental screening and interventions for children
🏫 Encourage inclusive education and supportive learning environments

Early detection, proper medical care, and supportive programs can significantly improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Let us work together to promote understanding, inclusion, and care for all members of our community.

Cotabato Sanitarium and General Hospital — committed to raising awareness, providing support, and delivering quality health care for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

COMMEMORATION OF THE 31ST NATIONAL DOWN SYNDROME CONSCIOUSNESS MONTH 2026 ACTIVITIES
Theme: NATATANGING NILALANG

In connection with the National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month, Deped Tayo Imelda National High School 303837 Imelda National High School 303837 proudly joins the nationwide observance anchored on Proclamation No. 157 (s. 2021), which declares the month of February as National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month, and guided by Republic Act No. 7277 (Magna Carta for Persons with Disability), as amended by Republic Act No. 9442, which upholds the rights of persons with disabilities to equality, dignity, and access to quality education.

This observance is further aligned with DepEd Memorandum No. 022, s. 2021, which enjoins schools to actively participate in national advocacy programs in support of inclusive education, reinforcing the Department’s commitment to creating safe, accepting, and learner-centered environments for all.

With the theme “Natatanging Nilalang,” the commemoration highlights the unique abilities, inherent worth, and potential of individuals with Down Syndrome. Through advocacy-driven (Propose Activity: Infomercial and SLOGAN contest) , we aim to raise awareness, foster acceptance, and strengthen collaboration among learners, educators, parents, and community partners in promoting inclusion and respect for diversity.

Together, let us celebrate uniqueness, champion inclusion, and uphold our shared responsibility to ensure meaningful participation and equitable opportunities for learners with Down Syndrome—today and beyond.
